The game definitely lived up to its terrifying title. Well, it seemed like it was going to anyway.

It turned out that Delanna was to lie down with her arms and ankles crossed on a large square sheet called the demolitore di ossa. Even though she had proven her Italian knowledge to herself once before, this sheet's name was a mystery to her.

Delanna carefully approached the incredibly stained, cream-colored sheet. Her eyes caught a glimpse of fraying around the edge of the mysterious game piece. Why the hell is that frayed? The girl wondered. The sheet looked like it could break at any second, and she was fairly sure it would.

Just as Delanna reached down to unbuckle her matted black shoes, Mrs. Dumbridge cleared her gross croaky throat.

¨Miss Hays, to show you how the game works, your dorm mate will go first.¨

Delanna looked to her left to see Lily's horrified face staring blankly at the sheet in front of them. Delanna couldn't tell what emotion her friend's face was portraying; fear, sadness, she almost seemed to have a million memories bouncing around her head.

Without an ounce of hesitation, the rest of the children started shuffling towards the sheet, taking their places around the square silently. Delanna felt like she had no choice but to follow her peers, leaving Lily behind as she began walking towards the other children. Taking a position between two young boys, both no older than 5 years old, Delanna noticed Lily shaking violently as she began to unbuckle her broken footwear.

As her friend took a careful step onto the torture game's only piece of equipment, Delanna's heart rose up to her throat, almost suffocating her. Lily looked like she was afraid to die on this sheet.

All Delanna could think about was what was going to happen to Lily as the other children began to lift the sheet in the air with expressionless faces, mirroring their teacher. Lily was now lying down, arms and ankles crossed, her eyes shut tight.

¨On my word!¨ Mrs. Dumbridge bellowed.

The other orphans' faces remained blank and Delanna tried her hardest to follow suit and not look down and Lily's petrified face.

¨ADESSO!¨ Now.

In one swift movement, each of the 50 or so mustard clothed students flung their arms up, throwing the sheet high into the air without letting go. Delanna let her arms loose to follow those of the orphans as she watched her closest friend get flung into the sky.
