I wasn't exactly sure how to feel about my Vio drenched in blood. Maybe if it was someone else's, I would. It looked good on him, but I didn't like the idea of him being hurt all that much, maybe if he behaved himself, I wouldn't have had to hurt him like that.

He was on his knees, looking up at me, a couple of x's cut into his skin with a knife, all over his chest, one on his arm, and I had gotten angry enough to gently trace one over his adam's apple when he kept squirming and asking me to stop.

"If I ever feel you've so much as thought about leaving my side," I managed in a calm voice. "I'll have to do this all over again. Do you want that?"

"No."

Another great thing, he knew exactly when I wanted to be answered and when I wanted him to stay silent.

"Then you'll do as I say. Believe me, Vio, compared to other stuff I could be doing, this isn't much more than a smack on the wrist."

He looked at me and frowned. I saw that glimmer in his eyes that made him look like he was analyzing a way to escape me. "You nearly slit my throat."

"And that would be like...slitting your wrist," I decided. "Do you want me to do that to you?"

"No, Shadow. I won't...I'll..."

"Later, we're going to figure out what to do with Green and Red." I cupped his chin until he was looking at me in the eye. "You're going to help me with whatever we decide to do, and you better at least act like your enjoying it or we'll be doing this again."

He didn't say anything in response. I decided I was okay with that.

I pushed him onto the bloodsoaked mattress and laid down next to him, wrapping my arms around his waist and pressing my nose into his hair, inhaling the metallic scent. He squirmed.

He's lucky I have to go anyway, I thought bitterly. I just want to stay like this forever.

Without another word exchanged between the two of us,  I upped and left him.

I kept replaying what happened in my head.

Red looked way too pale. He slowly stood up.

Blue got too close to him. "Red, what was that--"

Red's sword was in his chest.

I had just stood there, frozen. And in the meantime, Red had tackled Blue to the floor and kept stabbing him, over and over again until I could see his rib cage. And a lot more than his name and tunic was red.

The cut on my side hurt like hell. I didn't even know when Red grabbed the sword off of Blue, he didn't use his sword, he didn't have his sword.

I shivered.

Red looked like he was about to keep stabbing Blue, but all of a sudden, the sword just fell apart. The blade snapped and fell off the hilt, the moment it met the ground it shattered like fragile glass would if you took a hammer to it. I didn't understand.

Red's eyes bore holes into my skull, like even in his cell by himself, still covered in blood and unarmed, he was planning how he was going to kill me.

And what was with Vio?
