A sharp pain in Embry’s side woke her up, when she moved the sheets, nothing seemed to be wrong. ‘What the hell’? The girl thought confused where the pain came from. Another searing pain stapes through her right side. Fatigue consumes her body, as the ginger warely making her way to the bathroom.
Once in front of the mirror embry was horrified at the sight that laid out before her, all her veins were black, in a striking contrast with her skin. ‘What the hell? Is this some sort of radiation thing?’ The girl was confused to hell and back.
She stumbled back and fell back into the chest of drawers and onto the floor. While she was at floor-height, she saw something, her hand reached out the grap the thing wretched between the wall and the chest of the drawers. After a minute or two of twisting, and pulling the item finally flew free.
It was a small box, complicated sigils and patterns decorated the it . Embry picked up the box and placed it on her bed, deciding what to do with it. “ Should I open it”? The young girl said to herself.
“Maybe you should i mean, you could get some jewelry to sell”
“Ya, but what if this box is a trap”?
“What if it contains a cure for your fatigue and your black veins?”
“What if it CAUSED your fatigue”
“ you know what i should just open it, if its a trap then its a trap”
Embry had her mind made up, she opened the box. Inside the box was a blood red key on a necklace. The cord around the key was a black leather, but the striking part was the key itself. The key was made of some short of deep red metal, when she put it on it the left of the key started to glow, in the direction of the bathroom. Embry walked over there, not noticing the fatigue that crippled her has completely disappeared. ‘What? I didn't close the door, wait did this bathroom even have a door ?
As she got closer the door had the same feeling as the Chasm, Freezing; it soon flooded the whole room. Embry walked slower but still was heading towards the door.
Once she arrived to the door, the cold was overwhelming, the knob however, was burning hot. She tried the knob, it was locked.
The ginger took out the key from her neck and tried the door. It opened to reveal the lobby. “What on earth”? She whispered under her breath as she made her way through the room.
At one point she walked over to the reception desk to ask the lady about the key, maybe it was part of the hotel. When she arrived at the reception desk and showed the old women the key she flipped out. It was hard to tell, for her words kept glitching, going up and down, speeding up and slowing down even reversing at one point.
The moment she put the now brightly glowing key back under her shirt, everything went back to normal.
Embry backed off and started to leave the building. The moment she even touched the door, the lobby began to shake. Cold air poured out of the chasm, Ice began to cover everything. Mist denchred her vision. The sound of breaking glass could be heard.
When the mist cleared the lobby looked the same as before, all except one thing. The chasm was gone. The cold air now, was all around her instead of being focused out of the chasm. ‘I need to get the hell out of here’ Embry thought as she ran out the door
