Unexpected Birthday Gift

I would have written this yesterday had I not been so flustered and tired. Yesterday was my birthday! I was excited to finally be a sly bit older! I woke up checking my phone and oh boy, I had so many notifications and messages, mostly from my class and a few from class 1B. "It's also Tetsutetsu's birthday! I'll have to text him later." I reminded myself and checked my messages.

I read a text from my mom. "Have a great birthday sweetie and make sure to call me! I love you!" I wish my mom wasn't on a business trip ever since she got her new job.

As I headed to the bathroom to get myself ready I felt a bit surprised reading one notification. It was from Bakugou. My heart skipped a beat and I opened his notification first.

"Happy Birthday, Shitty Hair. Get your ass down here, we're gonna start getting ready." Ready for what? They must be planning something, I thought as I spiked my hair up and hardened it. That text had only been sent 8 minutes ago so they were still downstairs.

I went downstairs with a black tank top, red sweatshirt, and gray sweatpants. I waved to everyone and I was shocked to see the whole class there! "Happy Birthday, Kiri!" Mina yelled whole hugging me happily. I hugged back but then got surrounded by Sero and Kaminari. "Good morning you guys!"

It felt nice to have everyone there, but where was Bakugou? I looked around for his sandy blonde hair and found him at the table. He seemed to be somewhat glaring off at the distance as if thinking. He looked so manly like that... why was I thinking this. My face felt a little warm as I walked over to him. "Morning, Blasty!" I smiled at him.

He looked at me then grunted. "Mornin, shitty hair. Happy birthday." He stared into my eyes and I felt my stomach flutter from that. "Th-thank you." I put my hand on my neck before asking, "Is this what you meant for get ready? Cause I like it!" I grinned. He shrugged. "Well if you like it like this we don't have to go out." He murmured while looking over at Mina, Sero, Kaminari, and Jirou, who were all dancing. "Those fuckers wanted to take you to the mall. They managed to convince me to come.."

The group came over to discuss the plan and I went upstairs to upgrade my clothing choice. I then texted them all to see if they were ready. We headed out at around 2 pm, all hyped up!

The first thing we did was go to the food center. We went to a pizza restaurant and got our order in. I even remembered specifically what pizzas we ordered: Sero ordered just a pepperoni pizza, Kaminari ordered a meat pizza which had sausage, pepperoni and bacon on it. Mina got a pizza with mushrooms on it (ehh) and Jirou got just a cheese pizza. I couldn't help but look at Bakugou, who not only ordered a huge load of peppers on it but also added spicy seasoning.

We were all sitting there joking around, sipping our sodas and taking far too many selfies (you can blame Mina for that, she had a massive spam session on her Insta). I sat kind of bored while listening in on a conversation. I felt as if someone was staring at me and I looked up, Bakugou's eyes were looking at mine. He turned away quickly to throw out his plate. "It looks like everyone's fucking finished, so shouldn't we have Kiri decide where we go next?" He somewhat yelled.

While it was kind of surprising, I was grateful. I didn't think I could last super long in a chair during a boring conversation. We walked around the different areas and went into different stores. Video game store (where I bought a new Call of Duty disc to replace my broken one), a clothing store, another clothing store, even more clothing stores...

"Gym Store! Bakugou, we can find those weights I was talking about! Let's-" I then realized that I had my nose against Bakugou's. He looked super flustered and he started sweating nervously. "Oh-oh. Uh sorry bro- I didn't look where I was goin.." I looked away nervously. Mina and Sero were watching with interest while Kaminari and Jirou were laughing their asses off.

"Boom. BOOM. BOOM." We all heard little explosions as he bolted towards the bathroom to hide. "Ahh! What was that about?" Mina coughed as the smoke cleared and Kaminari helped her up. Sero wore a big toothy grin. "He looked flustered from he and Kiri almost kissing!" I got mad. "We're just friends! God dammit.." Jirou looked at me. "Are you sure you don't like him? You do seem to act strangely around him."

Did I like him?

Nah. Surely not.

Maybe? I'll ask Mina for advice.

I ignored Jirou and ran in his direction. "Bakubro?! Where are you, dude?" I found him in the corner of the bathroom, his shirt and pants blown to pieces from the explosions. "Did i fluster you that badly? I'm sorry I-" Bakugou growled. "It's fine. Just help me find new clothes, these pants are fucking ruined now." My face turned red as I looked down and realized his pants had been exploded, revealing his underwear, which also showed signs of damage.

Mina came back 6 minutes later with a shirt that was one size too big for Bakugou and a pair of boxer shorts. That would do.

Bakugou explained with the manager that he'd pay for the damage and we left the mall straight away at around 5.

When we were at the dorms, I got myself showered and changed. I saw Bakugou right outside his door as if expecting someone. "You're finally out. Tck." He still looked pissed from earlier. I put my hand behind my neck and scratched my head. My hair was down and almost covering my eyes. "Sorry about earlier man. I-I was too excited about that gym store and I didnt have a right to invade your privacy or embarrass you like that." I apologized, feeling really bad. He sighed.

"You apologize too damn much. It gets annoying sometimes. But that's not what I wanted to talk about." He dug into his pocket. "I heard you wanted to see that new movie that came out, "War Machina." I only had enough money for two tickets and at first I was considering giving the second ticket to either Sero, Kaminari, or Mina. But Sero and Kaminari already watched it and Mina isn't into that type of shit. So..." he held out two movie tickets and handed one to me. "The movies playing at 7. Go get ready cause I know you take forever, asshat."

My heart was beating as he and I head to the theater that night. But it was a good movie and I was really enjoying that time.

When we got back I went to my dorm to go to bed. I took into consideration what Jirou said and grabbed my phone, but then read a notification. "From: Blasty. "U still owe me for what happened today. Gn." I giggled a bit then decided to text Mina.

"Jirou's right. I like Bakugou."

And I went to bed.
