Thirteen

Luke's POV

I heard the front door open, so I left the living room to see who it was, but obviously it could only be Miriam.

"How was detention?" I asked

She looked at me with a smirk.

"Fun" she said sarcastically and rolling her eyes at me

She walked to the kitchen and I followed her.

"Uh, Miriam?" I began

"Yup?" she answered taking a chocolate milkshake out of the fridge

"Do you know what's wrong with Charlie?"

She raised an eyebrow and looked at me with a careless facial expresion while drinking her milkshake.

"No, why?"

"She's been pretty weird around me lately" I said resting my elbows on the table

"Why do you think that?" she said with a sigh, putting her milkshake on the table

I frowned at her.

"Do you even care of what I am talking about?" I asked

She rolled her eyes at me.

"No, but tell me. You are my brother and my job is to pretend that I care about your problems so then I can help you" she said sitting on the table

I raised an eyebrow and she let out a breathed laugh.

"She is just being kind to you" she said "Don't worry about her, Lukey"

She stood up and stopped in front of me.

"You sure?" I asked

"Yeah" she whispered giving me a hug

I hugged her back and thanked her.

"So she invited you to come shopping, huh?" she asked with a smirk

"Miriam!" I laughed

She laughed shaking her head.

"I'll go get changed. Ashton'll pick us up at five thirty" she said walking away, but I stopped her grabbing her by her arm

"What?" she asked with a laugh

"Are you sure there's nothing between you and Ashton?" I asked raising an eyebrow

She blushed and got off me.

"Yes, I am sure" she said sassily and then walked upstairs

I smiled at her and went back to the kitchen to serve myself a glass of water. As I drank it, I heard a knock on the door so I went to answer it.

"Hey, Ash. Hey, Charlie" I greeted

"And hey Michael" said Michael from behind Ashton

"And Calum" he said pushing Michael

"Weren't you supposed to be here at half past five?" I asked laughing

"Yeah but we were bored so we decided to come earlier" answered Charlie

"Fine then" I said letting them in

"Where's Miriam?" asked Michael

"Upstairs. We can wait for her in the living room" I said nodding

"I'll go say her hi, I won't bother her" said Michael palming my back and then walked upstairs

"So" I said to break the awkwardness

"Don't try" said Ashton

"Fine" I said nodding

"I can't wait for the party" said Charlie smiling at me

I gave her a nervous smile and she giggled.

"We'll get drunk and fuck with every girl" said Calum

"Not every girl" I said frowning

"I won't touch your sister, you know it" he said

"You better not. If one of you guys touches my sister I promise I'll chop your dick" I said laughing

Calum and Charlie laughed too and Ashton's face turned pale.

"I am glad I didn't touch your sister" said Ashton

"Me too" I said with a threatening look

"I'll go to the toilet" said Ashton standing up

"Sure" I said laughing

Michael's POV

I walked upstairs and knocked on Miriam's door.

"Who's it?" she asked

"The best friend you could ever have" I laughed

I heard her chuckle.

"Can I come in?"

"Sure" she said

I opened the door and found her on a black Ramones tank top and black knickers.

"Wow"

She looked at me and pulled out her tongue at me.

"I can't find my white skiny jeans"

"Do you need help?"

"Please?" she said rolling her eyes at me with a smile

I laughed and helped her find her jeans.

"Oh there! Under the bed" I laughed

"What were they doing there?" she laughed taking them

She put them on and put on her black converses

"Done" she laughed

"How are things going with Ash?" I asked

She pressed her lips and took my hands.

"Good" she said giving me an apologetic smile

"Good" I said with a forced smile looking at the floor

I didn't know why I felt this way. I wish I was in Ashton's place. But I had to deal with it, she was happy with him.

"Sorry" she said

"You don't have to be sorry" I said giving her a smile

"You know I'll always love you, right?" she said holding my hands tighter

"Yes" I said smiling "And so I will"

She kissed my cheek and got off my hands.

"Lets go" she said with a giggle

I smiled and followed her. We walked downstairs to where everyone was.

"Hey" Miriam greeted

"Hello" sang Calum giving her a hug

"Calum" she laughed

She pulled away from the hug and looked around.

"Where's Ash?"

"In the toilet" answered Charlie

"We'll wait for him and then we'll drive to the shopping center then" she said with a smile, looking stunning as always
