The window to tell Archie about the affair was slowly getting smaller. Jughead knew it, Betty knew it. However, Archie still didn't.

Jughead's phone chimed as he came into his room, grabbing his bag and phone. A text came across his screen as he opened up the chat.

Betty: I think today's the day.

Jughead exaimed the message until he finally understood what she meant.

Jughead: How are you gonna tell him?

Betty: I'm just going to explain what happened and apologize immensly-- probably cry, too. And then I'll see if we could still be friends.

Jughead: Well, you really got this figured out, now don't you?

Betty: I hope.

Betty: Meet me in the closet at one?

Jughead: I'll see you there, Blondie.

At lunch, Jughead noticed how close Betty and Archie were sitting and how he continuously called her "Baby," or "Babe."

Betty seemed pretty quite, too-- her nerves most likely getting the best of her. "B, you okay? You seem like you just got sent in for a police interrogation," Veronica commented.

"Yeah, no, I am...I am good. Thanks for asking," Betty replied, a fake smile and nod selling the lie a bit more.

Soon it was one p.m. and Jughead made his way to the closet, Betty already in there.

"Well?" Jughead asked, anxious to hear the verdict.

"I...I can't do it. Not today at least," Betty said, Jughead sighing and running a hand through his hair. "I know, I know. I'm sorry--"

"Hey, hey. Babe, trust me, you have nothing to be sorry for, okay? You still have tommorow and Friday," Jughead said, putting both hands on her shoulders in an attempt to calm Betty down before she would burst into tears.

He pulled her in for a kiss; a sweet little lip-lock. "The sooner the better, right? That's what you told me?" She asked, slowly regaining confidence.

"Yeah," Jughead replied. "But I shouldn't have put so much stress on you, Betts, I'm sorr--"

A kiss interrupted Jughead; a lasting, sweet, romantic kiss. One that Betty has only experienced with Jughead-- genuine on both parties.

"It'll be done by Friday at nine. I promise you, Juggie," Betty smiled. "I have History, but I'll swing by later?" She suggested, heading for the door.

"You better," Jughead smirked with a chuckle to follow as Betty bit her lip and headed out.

The car ride with Veronica and Jughead to their house was just like the old times. "No, Jughead! No more Chase Atlantic! I wanna listen to Marina!" Veronica complained from the front seat reaching for the aux cord.

"When you drive, you pick the music. When I drive, I pick the music," Jughead replied, keeping one hand on the wheel and the other knocking away Veronica's hands.

"Why do you get to make the rules?" Veronica asked.

"Well, I am older--" Jughead began to joke with a smirk before being interrupted by his raven-haired sister.

"By two minutes!" Veronica sat back in her seat as Jughead laughed. Betty knew the real reason why Jughead seemed to always be the parent figure, and it wasn't just the 120 seconds of seniority.
