Hennessy's Pov

it had been a week getting used to this apartment. the first few days i had nightmares of what happened to me that night a few years ago. i wasn't used to being alone, but the only entertaining thing about all of this was me and jack still had our deal going.

i knew i was going to win this. now that i think about it, he never gave a deadline to how long this could go on. i had finally get a job, but nightshifts were the only thing available which scared me.

every night, anytime i walked down a sketchy walkway i held my taser and pepper spray with me. there was no way i was going to risk getting hurt again.

i turned a corner only a few blocks away from my apartment. i hear a foot scrape the ground and i turn slightly to see a man with a hoodie walking right behind me.

my heart race skyrocketed, but i attempt to calm down thinking it could have just been a simple man walking by and not everyone was out to hurt me.

i start to speed up my walking taking another turn and quickly look behind me to see the man was still following my trail. i look through my bag and curse to myself when i don't see my taser or pepper spray. shit, i must've left it with the stuff i didn't unpack yet.

despite our deal i call jack since he was the first number suggested. i wait a few seconds before i hear his voice on the other end.

"you just couldn't stay away could you?"

"jack, jack, please. can you come over?" my voice sounding panicked.

"a-are you okay? what's wrong?"

"i'll tell you as soon as you come over, just please please hurry."

"alright, send me the address, i'm on my way."

i hang up and sigh of relief seeing my apartment. i never looked back as i fiddled with the keys trying to open it. i open the door and quickly shut it and lock it. i slide my back down against the door hugging my knees as i cry softly.

all this traumatic stress is overwhelming and i don't know how to get over it. i attempt to calm myself down and send jack the address. he tells me he'll be here in a few minutes and the minutes flew by like seconds as i jumped hearing multiple knocks on the door.

i stand up and slowly open the door seeing jack with a soft look on his face. he slowly steps in locking the door and gives me a hug as i cry on his chest.

"shh, hey, it's okay." he lifts my head up and wipes the tears that came down my face. "why don't you go get changed while i wait for you on your bed, yeah?"

"o-okay." i pull away from him and grab some random clothes from my closet and put them on. i walk towards jack who had a small smile on his face.

"you don't have to, uhm, stay. i get if you have other things to do tomorrow." i spoke, looking anywhere else but his eyes.

"hey. . . hennessy, look at me." i do as he says and wait for him to continue. "i'm not leaving, i'll stay here with you as long as you want, okay?"

"thank you." my voice breaks and i climb into bed feeling like i want to cry again. jack goes under the sheets and lays down next to me. i move closer to him and he caresses my head leaving a small kiss to my forehead.

"it's going to be okay."

i wake up the next morning, rubbing the tiredness out my eyes. i move jack's hands and get up going into the bathroom. i put my hair into a bun and brush my teeth then wash my face exiting the bathroom.
