Some update from how the story will look like
Antagonists:
Knights of Damocles (Subject to alterations)
Conflict idea: CPUs vs. Emulators vs. Glitches
Nature of the conflict: CPUs notice that they’re losing shares. They discover this is because of emulators, who are organized in a group of four antagonists, called Knights of Damocles. At around the middle of the story, Glitches start appearing, corrupting monsters and people. It’s discovered that it’s the uncontrolled growth of the emulators’ shares that glitches are spreading. Emulators are redeemable/rational antagonists (Chaotic Neutral, alignment of each antagonist character may vary), Glitches are (Chaotic Evil).
Goal:
Gaining shares through emulation of the main consoles, taking away shares from the CPUs. (The main antagonist, (Name1), is secretly a glitch himself, who only made the other emulators grow so quickly to be able to spread Glitches. He constantly struggles between his collected, cold original personality, and the aggressive, less rational Glitch side. Other Knights of Damocles are not aware of this).
Organization:
An organized force with access to funds and resources, each member is associated with a nation, each one has their own fleet of airships and one large flagship, as well as their distinct methods. They will respond with armed force and superior firepower (on acts they consider to promote the console war, including one-sided technological advancements of one nation,) with one exception. The members each have their own distinct reasons for joining, and some of them may already have lost sight of it. The name is based on the story of Damocles’ Sword, which would hang over a person’s head, and could drop at any moment. The real power of the sword was not that it dropped, but that it hanged, the looming threat of death would be enough to coerce any individual, regardless of whether the sword would fall or not.
Members:
(Name1)
Leader of the organization. Associated with Planeptune. Lawful Evil moral alignment. True motivations are to the benefit of glitches, him being corrupted by them, and using the organization to facilitate his goals. Struggles to keep his original personality and goals, but is eventually completely corrupted by the Glitch. Somewhat affable, but intimidating and distant. When he enters the scene, the atmosphere becomes tense. Intended as the last Knight to be defeated, can serve as the final boss.
