❝ impact ❞
THE day was here and his manager went to complete the discharge formalities, leaving Jungkook alone in the room. He couldn't sleep the whole night since all he could think about was Jihyun.
No idea, what was so special about this person that he couldn't keep his mind away from her. The one who was supposed to give the answer was still not here.
The manager walked into the room. "Sir, everything is done. They said you can leave now," he said. "Okay," Jungkook said but something was bothering him, that why wasn't she still here.
All the things that belonged to him were already sent to the car and he was only left to leave the room.
For the last time, he looked back to the room to check if he left something before walking out of the room with the help of his crutches. Yes, he still needed to use them for a time being until his leg completely healed.
In the hallways, he noticed Jihyun talking to a nurse. "She was here?" Jungkook mumbled to himself only to get the answer from the manager, "I saw her since the morning though."
There was a sting in his heart. He wondered why didn't she even visit him when she knew that it was her last day here. "Am I being ignored?" he asked himself.
The worst thing that he would ever ask for, being ignored. He hated it so much and this was not the first time coming from her.
Their eyes met each other and Jihyun gave him a nervous smile before walking to him. "Remember to take bed rest for a few weeks, hmm?" she asked but no response from him.
With an awkward laugh, she tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear. "Meet you soon during the check-ups," she said.
He was asked to come here and meet his doctor for check-ups every week until the doctor would tell him he was completely fine and can stop coming here. "Yeah," he said and walked past her.
Jihyun sighed in relief after he left since her heart was thumping inside her chest with a weird feeling in his presence. She watched her until he was away from her sight. "What's wrong with me?" she asked herself.
This was the reason why she couldn't go to his room earlier, even though she literally stood in front of Room 191, fighting her own mind.
A message popped on her phone, reminding her of the meeting with the seniors. She sighed and headed towards the meeting hall.
Meanwhile, Jungkook walked out of the building with his manager and a car was waiting for them right there. The manager helped him get into the car and to sit comfortably.
The driver drove the car away from the hospital premises. "Sir, I already fixed the appointment with the doctor for this week," the manager said from the front, looking at him in the mirror.
"I don't want to go," Jungkook said, looking out of the window.
"But sir–"
A glare from Jungkook was enough for the manager to shut his mouth. Right now, all he wanted to do was to his room and sleep.
Staring outside the window, he sighed no wonder how many times. He couldn't stop thinking about her and that quick kiss they shared with each other.
Those things were completely invading his mind including how he got ignored earlier. "Stop it. She was just another girl," Jungkook convinced himself.
The thing he was unaware of was that he was lying to himself and it was the biggest mistake he ever did which would soon lead to a huge impact in his life.
And he was finally back to his home. He looked at the time and his sister would return home from school at any time.
Bidding a goodbye to his manager, he walked into the house. His room was on the first floor and the same stairs he always used looked like a mountain for him.
Holding onto the handrail with one hand, he slowly walked upstairs and finally, he succeeded to get there. The moment he reached his bed, he threw the crutches aside and himself on the bed.
"Finally!"
Soon enough, footsteps were heard outside the room until his sister appeared near the door. "I missed you," Junghee ran to her brother and hugged him. "You will get tired of taking care of me soon," Jungkook said and hugged her back.
Junghee rolled her eyes on her brother and pushed him away, breaking the hug. "Cocky much," she said, glaring at the latter. "I'm hungry. Make me some food," Jungkook was already ordering his sister.
"Wait until I change my uniform," Junghee sang out and left the room.
There was a phone call, making him roll his eyes, but he still answered the call. "Yes?" he asked in a bit annoyed voice. "Sir, the extended due date is near," his assistant spoke from the other line. And he sighed. "I'll start right away," he said and hung up the call.
Again, he had to walk to bring his laptop but he decided to call his sister for help. "JUNGHEE!" He called her several times but she didn't hear him.
Soon, he gave up and walked to bring his laptop which was away from the bed. He started the work that had been pending for a long time because of his accident.
Again, fruits. His sister brought him fruits instead of cooking something saying these are better for his health. "Thought you were cooking since you took a long time. You lazy ass," he commented. Junghee ignored him and walked out of the room.
Too busy and focused on his laptop that he didn't even hear his message tone. Later, when he checked his phone, he saw a message from Jihyun.
- did you eat?
'eating fruits. you want some?' He did type these words but ended up erasing everything and chose to ignore her.
A few minutes later, again, another message popped on the screen.
- kookie?
This was the first time she called him that. His hands itched to reply but his ego won this game. His egoistic part reminded him of something.
"Just another girl."
