When we were young we were thought the difference between the hero and the villain, good and evil, a savior and a lost cause.

But what if the truth is that the only difference is just who's telling the story?

My name is Maria Salvatore. Daughter of two vampires who aren't that unknown in the supernatural history.

They call me 'the living vampire'.

Why you might ask? Because although a female vampire can't get pregnant my mother did. When I was made my mother was 'dead' through a spell which I got my witch side from. I had vampire blood in my organism and in the organism which was feeding me and soon they noticed that im a blood sucker.
My mother made the impossible possible.
She always wanted a baby and a normal life and now she's got one.

There is no place in the world for people like us.
Except one: The Salvatore School.

They teach us discipline, compassion a little magic but mostly it's a place they keep us safe.

The locals think we're a school for troubled rich kids. Well the troubled part is true.

We fall asleep in geometry and pass notes in magical history. We throw party's in the woods and crash the locals high school dances. We fall in and out of love and break each others hearts.

Like so many who came before us we're not all good and we're not all bad. But we are all different. Wether we like it or not. Anyone of us could snap and become the villain of someone else's story.

That's why there are rules.

Rule #1: No one can know who we are or what we can do.

Rule #2: Don't get close with the locals.

When we open up to strangers we risk exposing ourselves and our secrets.

When local boy Landon entered Hopes life she learned the consequences of breaking the rules.
