The first thing that she felt was pain. The burning pain in her lungs. The dryness of her mouth. She could feel her soaked, salt covered dress which was sticking to her equally soaked body. She was so cold and it was so very dark. So, so dark and silent. Silent except for the hum of a far away object.

She never had liked silence and darkness. It had never been a good mix. Whenever something bad happened, that was what seemed to follow. Silence. Darkness. That's why she always seemed so loud and bright, to expel the darkness in other people's lives and to pretend that nothing was wrong.

"Am I dead?" She whispered into the darkness, "is this heaven? I never did imagine it so dark and strange... maybe this is hell."

Suddenly, the silence was broken by the sound of heavy footsteps. The usually quiet sound echoed menacingly. Her breathing slowed and her heart began to beat rapidly as she realised that the footsteps were heading in her direction.

She attempted to get to her feet and run away only to slip and flat on her face. She felt the slow trickle of something warm run down her face. She, however, attempted again and this time successfully scrambled to her feet and climbed out of the slippery boat shaped thingy.

Even in her terrified state she still managed to wonder, "what even is that thing?". She was about to stop and examine it when she remembered that the foot steps were getting louder and therefore, their owner was getting ever closer.

She ran to the others side of the room and groped desperately for any door. Any way to escape this hell.

She silently cheered when she found a door handle. She pulled on it and it didn't budge. All of her delight at finding an escape route had disappeared. She pushed on it, pulled it and tried to wrench it open but it just wouldn't. She rapidly scanned to room to find any other way to escape the room.

She was trapped. Alone, with no way out, in a tiny room full of strange objects, with an unknown person on their way to do, who knows what. She didn't even know where she was, which state, which country even! Her knees buckled and she collapsed on the floor crying silently, with no one to comfort her.

After a few seconds, the footsteps stopped. Someone was right outside the door. They were about to enter. She heard a lock begin to turn very, very slowly and curled up into herself even more.

This was it. The door began to creak open. To reveal a young boy, around 18 with puffy brown hair and eyes. Weirdly he was wearing a green outfit with little green blobs on.

His eyes landed on the tiny sobbing ball of human that lay on the floor in front of him. He squealed and slammed the door and his footsteps could be heard rapidly receding.

After a few minutes however, more sets of footsteps began approaching the door. It creaked open and-

Everything went black.
