Kayla POV
I saw Lyd put her head own on the table. I knew something was up with her.
I tapped her shoulder but her head didn't come up. I tried again and this time she turned her head to me. I heard a vibration from her pocket. We both already knew who it was.
She handed her phone to me.
"Power it off and don't look at the message." She demanded.
I powered off her phone like she said and handed it back to her. The only thing saw on her screen was a SMS sent from a different 555 number.
When Mrs. Jones walked in the room, Lydia brought her head up and did her best to put on a smile. I knew this was hard for her but she was way too overwhelmed for this. This wasn't my say though.
"Now class," Mrs. Jones started as she was looking directly at Lydia, "Get out you text books and turned to page 600.
Everyone in the class except for Lyd grabbed their text book. Mrs. Jones walked over to her and handed her a purple math textbook. She opened it up like all the other children did.
For the rest of class, she was quiet. As soon as the bell rang, she ran out of the classroom and away from windows as soon as she could.
In the middle of the hallway, she stopped and looked around. I knew what happened. She forgot her way to a classroom and has no idea what to do.
I walked to her a soon as I could and stopped.
"Hey, lost your way?"
She looked at me then back at the hall.
"Yeah where's history class?" She asked.
I took her by the arm and dragged ran down the hall. I didn't think she knew the rule where you have to be in class two minutes after the bell rang. I'm going to be late for science.
I lead her to history and bolted my way down to science. I know Mrs. flaw is going to be mad at me. This is the fourth time I have been late for class.
As I went into science, I entered the room just before Mrs. Flaw got in here. I was one second to being late but I made it.
I took a seat down by Tori in the back of the room. She had saved a seat for me right next to the window.
When Mrs. Flaw started talking I turned my head out the window. There was so much more things I could do out there than sit inside and do nothing but listen to this stupid lesson.
Outside I noticed that the bees were flying by and birds were sitting on tree. I have always loved this kind of stuff. I don't understand how Lyd couldn't.
I turned my head back to the front of the room. Mrs. Flaw was talking about how animals decompose and what animals consume other animals and all that other stuff. I only pay a little attention in this class. That's probably why I have Ds and Cs most of the time. When there is something interesting she's talking about, I'll look up from my phone or something that I'm drawing and listen.
My phone vibrated in my pocket. I thought it was Dean texting me that he loves me and why I wasn't sitting with him today.
I grabbed my phone in my pocket about ready to click on the text saying that I love him too but too my surprise, it was Lyd.
Lydia: Hey I need to talk, I don't feel well and I don't want to be here right now.
Me: What's wrong.
Lydia: I'm scared for my life.
Me: What happened, who was that number who texted you in math class?
