It was a dull gray day out, as Vivian grabbed her camera and bag full of things and set off outside to the garden.
Tossing her bag to the side dolls scattered out of it, as Vivian started to set up her camera.

Vivian loved taking photos of her dolls. Telling their story through photos, bringing them to life. Today was just the perfect day for photos. It had been raining the past few days, and today has been nothing but dark and dry. The perfect weather for some spooky photo shoots! It was cool out but not quite so cool for a jacket just yet. The clouds covered the sky as a murder of crows circled the area, singing out their not so beautiful tunes.

Vivian was to focused on setting up her camera that she jumped when something hit her in the back with full force. Startled, Vivian froze and squeezed her eyes tight. She was to scared to even look at what had come near her.

The creature let out an awful sound as she could feel the roughness of its fur brush against her arm, until the creature crawled up into her lap. Her heart was racing, she didn't know what to do! Letting out its awful noise again, this time Vivian did dare to look. Looking down at her lap through the slits of her eyelids, she saw an all black beast with shining yellow eyes looking up at her.

Vivian felt like a fool as she let out a small giggle. "It's just you, Salem. You had me scared to death!"

Salem, the neighbors all black cat, usually showed up around the garden at night begging for food, and of course, Vivian always fed him. It was only a surprise that he would show up at the garden around this time of day.

Vivian moved Salem off of her lap giving him some attention before getting her dolls all set for photos. She worked on propping them all up, fixing their fancy dress clothes, and brushing their hair from their faces.

Salem was getting jealous. He wanted more of Vivian's attention. He rammed his head into her side in a fierce head butt, almost knocking Vivian off her feet, but she just went back to her dolls. Salem tried everything, but it was useless.

As time went by and many photos were taken and many attempts for attention were tried, a strong breeze came in, knocking over the dolls and camera. In a panic, Vivian moved quickly to check her camera before collecting all of her dolls.

Once safely putting her dolls and camera away, Vivian decided she had more than enough photos and was about to head home, but something felt odd. Where had Salem gone? Now that she thought about it she was also one doll short of her collection.

Turning around, Vivian became faced to the sharp golden eyes of the black cat. Salem stood a few feet away from Vivian with her missing doll at his feet.

"Salem, what are you doing way over there? What's wrong?" She asked taking a step towards him.

Salem let out a non catlike meow, even more twisted than his usual sound, as his face distorted into something much more sinister.

Salem stood with a wide grin etched across his face, showing off all his large white fangs as he opened his wide mouth, devouring the doll before him whole. His golden eyes were huge and no where near looking human, let alone like a cats eyes. Vivian could see the hunger for attention, the hunger for her in them.

Vivian stood trembling in terror. What had she just witnessed? This wasn't right. Nothing she was seeing was right! She was ready to take off running towards home, but before Vivians feet could even move from her spot, Salem bounded towards her. The hunger flashing in his eyes.

Jolting awake in a cold sweat, Vivian could feel her heart beat pounding against her chest. Her hands were clammy as she moved them in and out of fists, trying to calm herself down. Looking towards her clock it read one in the morning. Vivian sighed and fell back into bed, letting her head hit the pillow as the warmth of her bed sucked her in.

In was pitch black in her room, except for the little moonlight that shown through Vivian's thin bedroom curtains. Casting silhouettes of the trees just outside her window onto her bedroom walls.

Vivian had finally calmed down and was just closing her eyes to drift off into sleep, when all of a sudden her eyes snapped wide open. Daring to look towards the window, a new shadowy figure appeared.

Vivian cold feel her heart begin racing as sweat ran down her forehead. A whisper was heard, "Goodnight, my dear girl. Sleep well~" before everything faded to black. The darkness embracing her to her death.

The last thing she saw was two golden eyes and the same all to familiar sinister grin.
