Once there was a little girl who wanted everyone to love her, but no one even looked her way. This girls name was Layla. Layla lived in a small village that was always bustling full of people. Even with all those people Layla still had trouble making friends. She did all she could to help out anyone in need or just be kind to others, but still Layla could never keep a friend.

One day a new girl, named Peone, moved into the village. There was nothing special about Peone. She looked like all the other girls, with her long blonde hair and green eyes. To Layla, Peone was simply boring. Layla for instance had long curly red hair, and eyes the color of burning flames, but for some odd reason everyone's attention was on Peone.

Layla figured it was only because Peone was new to the village, so of course she would gain some attention, but Layla knew it would not last. Peone was similar to Layla, though Layla would never admit that. Peone was kind and so generous. When a little one was crying Peone would comfort them and make them smile. When someone was in need of help, Peone was always right there to help.

The only difference between the two girls was that no matter how much had time gone by, Peone still had all of the attention and all of the friends. Layla despised her.

As the two girls got older nothing seemed to change for Peone and Layla. Everyone knew and loved Peone and no one noticed Layla. The older they got the more Layla would look down upon Peone. Eventually ideas began to run through Layla's head. If she could not get everyone attention by being nice, then maybe she should be the opposite. Layla planned on stealing Peone's place in the spotlight. Every nice thing Peone does, Layla would ruin it, in hopes that everything would backfire on Peone, letting everyone's attention turn to Layla, who in the end, would make everything right. Gaining everyone admiration and awing stares.

Layla started acting out her plans but they never went as she wanted them to go. When Layla messed up Peone's good deeds, everyone knew Layla had caused the mess, and Peone would make it right again. The more Layla's plans failed the more Layla became known throughout the village.

Layla hated it at first, but then realized how well known she was. Everyone knew her by name. All the spotlight lined Layla of what her original intention was. Yes, everyone knew her, yet no one loved her, accept for one person, Peone.

Peone loved everyone and believed there was good in everyone, even Layla. Layla was furious when she found out. She knew how evil she was, and refused to believe Peone could see any good in her, so Layla had a plan. Layla wanted Peone out of the picture. Layla wanted the spotlight all to herself, with no goodie two shoes of a girl in her way. She would end the life of Peone in front of everyone.

Layla called everyone to gather around in the village square, where soon they would all watch Layla end the life of Peone. Peone and Layla stood face to face. Everyone, including Peone, were clueless about what was going on. Behind Layla in the village square stood a statue of the king, that was centuries old and crumbling.

Layla looked Peone in the face and slowly pulled out a dagger from the pocket of her dress. Raising it above her head to stroke Peone, who was frozen in fear.
Before Layla had a chance to do anything the statue behind Layla began to fall.

The whole statue crumbled down upon Layla, as the dust from the stone debris spread revealing Layla who was trapped under the heavy broken statue.

Peone began to weep and shout for help from the crowd around her, as she tried to save Layla's life, but the crowd had only cheered for Layla was dead.

Layla's last words to Peone who struggled alone to save Layla were, "This is all your fault."
