Let me go

Flashback

I went down the escalator and to the empty parking lot. "Idiot," I laughed at myself because I forgot where I had parked my car. Looking around, my eye caught the attention of a dark SUV parked next to my blue Nissan. I walked towards my car and the SUV, but stopped at my tracks when I heard a scream. A loud, terrifying, high pitched scream. My heart dropped. It was definitely a girl's scream.

Oh god.

Oh my god.

I dropped my shopping bags on the hard cement floor and started running towards the direction of where the scream came from, which came from somewhere near my car.

Standing in front of the space between the SUV and my car I squinted through my tears of terror. I saw the worst image I had ever seen in my life. A girl around my age was sprawled out on the floor with a pool of blood seeping out underneath her. Her arms and legs were at impossible angles; she wasn't moving. The pain in my heart doubled as my whole body seemed to go cold. I lifted my eyes up, unable to move. A group of guys, their clothes covered with blood.

The girl's blood.

I started to scream, turning around to run away, but before I could run far enough, something hard hit my back and I fell to the ground, my face facing the girl's face. Her hair was covering her eyes, but her lips were visible. 'Help me,' I think she mouthed.

She's alive! I thought.

I attempted to stand on my hands and knees, but the same hard object hit my head and I fell back down. I was paralyzed, or so I thought.

With my remaining blackening vision, I could see feet running to my direction and the girl's direction. A bat hit the girl's head, hard, pushing all the air out of my chest. Before I could manage another cry for help, my vision went completely dark.
