“Okay Audrey that looks perfect!” the photographer said as I pulled my leg into a scorpion.
“Can we please take a break? It’s been 2 hours already and I’m sweating buckets.”
“Alright, everyone take ten then.”
It’s a beautiful June day on the shores of South Korea where I’m doing a dance photo shoot. Life in Korea has been quite difficult considering I can’t speak Korean, but it’s manageable. Although it’s already summer, it is still quite chilly so I struggle to stay warm by cuddling my cute little corgi friend, Henry. I am so thankful to have Henry by my side. While living in a foreign country alone, I am never alone when my little corgi is by my side.
“Audrey back to position” the photographer commanded. I groaned at his order but dragged myself out of my chair. “Okay, let’s try some leaps and jumps now, but try to face the sky. It’s a little tough but it has a much greater effect.”
Suddenly, little Henry starts barking and chases after the seagull. “Henry come back!” “Hold on, I’ll be right back my dog becomes crazy when he sees seagulls”
“Henry come back here!” I screamed as I chase after him. God I shouldn’t have let him come to the beach today. I ran as fast as I could through the sand, but Henry was nowhere in sight. Suddenly I heard barking and laughter. “Henry? Henry? Come out boy!”
When I ran past this big mountain looking rock, I found Henry playing with a group of guys. Suddenly redness flushed through my cheeks. Why is it that Henry always runs to groups of guys…
“Henry! Come here boy!” I called for Henry who was in the midst of playing with the group. Good thing Henry listens to my commands. In a split second, he dashes toward me. As he jumps into my arms, I walk over to the group. “I’m so sorry about my dog! He’s always excited when he meets strangers.” I said smiling nervously.
Before they could say anything, the photographer’s assistant finally caught up to me and called me back. I thanked them, smiled, and ran back.

“Can we please go now? You guys are taking forever!” Chanyoel complained.
“Okay, okay! Seriously Chanyoel this is the eighth time you asked us this. We’re all ready now,” responded Chen.
“Alright then, everyone in the car!”
“Finally, after days of training, working out, and rehearsals, we can sit on the beach and relax!” said Chen as he stretched out his arms.
At around 10, we arrived at our secluded beach spot. Normally when we go to the beach, we like to reserve a private beach and resort so no one can bother us.
“Hey guys look! There’s a little dog there!” I exclaimed as I run down to greet it. The rest of the members followed.
“Ah it’s so cute!” said Luhan as he petted the little fellow, “but whose dog is it?”
We all looked around but no one was around. “Well, if no one’s going to claim the dog, I want to keep it”
“Yes! What shall we call it then?” asked Chanyoel who is extremely excited.
“How about little wolf?” “Oh! I like that!”
But then someone ruined our moment. A girl calling out in English. I had no idea what she was saying but I had a feeling the dog was hers.
When she spotted the dog, a sign of relief surfaced her facial expressions. When she called the dog by it’s real name, it ran to her automatically.
I thought she was just going to leave, but surprisingly she walked over to us and spoke in perfect English. I had no idea what she was saying but I was so jealous of her perfect English.
She wasn’t very tall, but she definitely was not short. Although she was wearing a long skirt, I saw her beautiful long legs through the side slit of her skirt. She had long black hair that was curled and she had a full face of makeup on. She was dressed up in dance clothes so she was probably here for a photo shoot, but before I could ask questions, someone called her back. The only thing I understood from her was when she said Thank You and that was it.
After she walked away, all the members were silent except for Chanyoel who was complaining about losing the dog. After that remark everyone joined in on talking.
“I thought this was a private beach… Why is someone here?” asked Tao, “I thought we told them not to book somewhere with other people here.”
“You’re not happy that a girl’s here? Who cares about the dog Chanyoel, she’s really pretty!” said Chen joyfully. “And Tao, did you not hear her? She can’t speak Korean and she had no response when she saw us.”
“Whatever guys, let’s just relax and enjoy our time here.” [Sehun] “Yeah seriously, I’m super exhausted.” [D.O]
“Hey Chen where are you going?” [Kai] but everyone already knows that he went to follow the girl.
Just as I was enjoying the utter silence, Chen came back and ruined it all. “Guys you have to see her! She’s amazing!”
Just then, she walked our way with the photographer and his assistants. The photographer came our way and apologized in advanced for disturbing us, but he just needs a couple more pictures of Audrey and the sea. He said it would only take 10 minutes.
Everyone said it was fine because it won’t bother them anyway. Since she was right in front of us, all of the members curiously made glances at her, but she didn’t notice. She was too preoccupied with scratching the tummy of little wolf.
