Chapter 7:

Audrey:

Oh My God. I finally got him back to my house. Phew, what a workout. After I placed him on the couch, I finally took a breather (something I needed half an hour ago) and poured myself a cup of water. What the hell was he doing on the street all drunk like that?

“Xiumin? Xiumin? Can you hear me?” I asked repetitively as I was helping him up.

Shit… I don’t know where he lives nor does he have his phone on him. Fuck… What the hell do I do with him?

After thirty seconds of not deciding what to do, I ended up bringing him to my place and boy was that a struggle. Even though Xiumin isn’t heavy, it was such a struggle trying to maintain balance and carry his weight on my shoulder. The whole way home was just a wobbly obstacle.

I took my cup and walked straight into the living room to check on Xiumin, who is currently sleeping on the couch. Wow. He looks so peaceful. His usual smile became subtle and his glistening eyes took a break from the world. He had an unusual gentleness to him that I couldn’t describe. I put my cup down and reached for the folded blanket on the other side of the couch. I slowly uncovered the blanket and placed it softly on his body. I took one last look at him and headed upstairs. Just as I began to walk away, I heard soft murmurs. Haha, soft giggles suddenly came out of my mouth. How cute, he talks in his sleep.

Wait. What if he wakes up in the morning and doesn’t know where he is? What if he wakes up in the middle of the night? *Sigh* I took my sleeping gear and headed downstairs to join him. Thank God the couch is the long kinds. Xiumin only took up the horizontal part so I slept on the vertical side. Good Night Xiumin.

The Next Morning:

Xiumin:

My eyes began twitching from the wake-up call of the sunlight and the endless chirping of birds. I slowly opened my weary eyes and was ready to endure a new day. Holy Shit. Fuck. My head hurts like crazy. God. What happened last night? More importantly, where am I? I looked around the huge living room. Woah, how did I even end up here? Suddenly, I noticed someone sleeping by me. Wait… nothing happened last night right? Nah, my clothes are still on. I balanced my head with one hand and got off the couch with the other. I slowly approached the sleeping girl and squinted my eyes in order to distinguish who it is. After a good ten seconds, I finally recognized who it was. Audrey. How in the world did I end up here?

Just as I was pondering over twenty different questions, Audrey began to fidget around. Maybe she sensed my presence.

“Oh! You’re awake!” Audrey exclaimed in an excited sleepy voice.

“Yes, umm...”

“Great! I’m starving! Whew, getting you here was such a workout!” she said as she was getting off of the couch. Before I could even say anything else, she began talking again. “Why don’t you and I get washed up and we’ll talk over breakfast? I know this great café where they have amazing omelets!”

“Umm okay?”

“The bathroom is on the first floor to the left.”

I see I’m not going to get answers now, so might as well get some breakfast. Now that I think about it, I was pretty hungry too.

I reached into my pocket for my phone, but it was there. Fuck… where did I leave it? As I began recollecting and regaining my memory, I remembered I powered it off and left it in the dorms.

Whatever, screw that shit. I’ll worry about that after breakfast.

What day is today? Oh yeah, it’s Saturday. According to the clock, it was 8:30. Surprisingly, Audrey actually got dressed and washed up before I came out.

“Are you ready?” she asked with her usual bright smile.

“I’m ready, let’s go!” I said in the most cheery voice I could convey.

After about 10 minutes of walking, we finally arrived at the café. It was a nice place with clean tables and large windows which brought the light and warmth into the room.

“Hi, I would like an omelet with cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes, and ham. Oh! Also I would like a salted caramel cappuccino. What do you want Xiumin?”

“Um, I’ll take a buttered bagel with ham, eggs, and cheese. And to drink, I would like plain hot coffee.”

After being seated and receiving our orders, I was finally able to ask about last night.

“So what exactly happened last night?”

“Well, I’m not sure exactly, but I found you on the streets after walking out of a bar. I didn’t know where you lived nor could I locate your phone, so I took you to my place.”

“YOU carried me all the way from the bar to your house?”

“Just because I’m small that doesn’t mean I can’t carry you there.” she said with a pleased look on her face.

“Well... Thanks anyway. I mean really. Thank you. I don’t know where I would be if you didn’t take me in.”

“It’s totally fine. Don’t mention it!”

After we took a few bites of our breakfast, she broke the awkward silence and asked me if I was okay.

“Huh?”

“I mean… I don’t want to sound all personal, but are you seriously okay? You were really drunk yesterday…”

“Yeah I’m fine…” I said with my head down.

“Yeah okay you’re not. You don’t have to tell me anything, but if you’re free today, let’s have a Xiumin and Audrey day!”

I started to laugh. “And what exactly would we do?”

“Hmm… welp, we’ll figure it out, but it’s such a nice day out! We should get out and do something! It has already been two months and I haven’t even done anything fun...” (After two seconds of silence) “Maybe we should go to an amusement park!”

I thought about it for a second and replied with a smile, “Let’s do it.”
