Knowing my mate is probably fooling around with Avery, I decided to pay the king's mate a visit.

I made my way to the hut where the prisoner is held captive.

I've been told that they have finally captured the werewolf king's mate so I'm here to see her myself.

As a matter of fact, I am so much relieved that the psychotic bitch's plan is starting to work. She'll have the king, I'll have my mate completely. It'll be a win-win situation for the both of us and for everybody.

I know, I know, I know. You must be wondering why I let all of this happen, why I let him treat me this way. But my mate isn't your typical kind of mate.

He isn't the soft, caring and loving type. He won't bow just for a mate and he care less of what his mate feels. As long as he's happy doing something, it's better for him, regardless of the fact that he's stepping into someone.

Before me lies a sleeping form of a woman restrained on a metal chair. Her arms and feet are cuffed with silver. I feel pity for her. That must hurt like a bitch.

I turned to Leo, the man entitled to look after her. Leo and I are like siblings. Actually, there's always been the four of us. Amore and Andromeda are our pals as well. But things change. Problems came and the unexpected happens.

"How things are going on here?" I asked him.

He just shrugged. "2 days to go then you'll have your mate."

I looked at the prisoner. A wave of guilt wraps me. How I wish the Goddess won't curse me after this. I never wished any of this to happen but I'll be a hypocrite if I say that I'm not looking forward for its success.

But, this woman didn't deserve any of this. She didn't deserve to lose a mate either. But I need to have my mate back, to have him completely. And I'll only do that if Avery's out of the picture.

Everybody's got to make their sacrifices. And this girl is everybody's sacrificial lamb. It's awful to take somebody's mate away just because of your own greed and selfishness but her despair is the cure to mine. So why should I bother thinking of her salvation if I got problems on my own?

Leo must have noticed the sudden tension in the atmosphere.
"Ciara, I know this whole setup is fucked up but what can we do, Amore made up his mind. And you know him, we both does."

I looked at him with eyes shining with tears, the guilt I feel is too much. "I'm trying to tell and make myself believe that this is her fate. But by the looks of it, this isn't clearly her fate. We just put matters on our hand just because Avery isn't satisfied with her mate and my mate's greed and intense desire to revenge is getting out of hand. But as of my case, this is the only way I can have my mate all by myself."

Leo didn't say a word, he just stares at me.

I wiped the tear that dares to escape my eyes. I cleared my throat. "I have asked Andromeda to clear her memories away. It's the least I could do for her. I'm such a selfish bitch for letting this happen but I'm doing this for my pup."
