chapter 3

Liz and Alvin arrived at the scene first . They stepped out the car to find a charred car with caution tape around it and a body bag in the middle of it. 51 was at the scene so liz walked over to matt and got the assessment.

"When we arrived on scene the car was completely engulfed in flames we found wires and an enhancer wired to blow when the door or alarm was activated. By the distance of the body I would say he set off his alarm." Matt said.

"Thanks matt"

Liz walked back over to her unit and told them the information that matt gave her.

"Hey voight come take a look at this" severide called from by the car."look at this"

Severide showed voight a key fob near the body.

"That means that it was activated by the key fob for sure"

"Thanks severide"

"Do we have an identity of the victim"

"Yeah Peter Fisher that's one of my CI." Kevin said.

"Ok let's head back to the district and put this together."

The ride back to the district seemed like it would never end for liz it was completely quiet the whole way back. When they arrived at the district they walked up the stairs and immediately started putting more pictures on the board.

"So now we have to find how our victims are connected." Voight said

"They where all CI or either they helped us find someone. Their going after our CI." Liz said

"Shes right. All we need to do now is figure out what gang is setting these things up." Kevin said

"And I think I have a lead on that (Antonio stepped up to the front of the room.) A gang called the outsiders. We traced one of our victims to the outsiders, he was a drug dealer and when we caught him he squealed. And our other two victims have given us some type of information on the drugs running through their territory. (Antonio's phone buzzed) And I just got their location."

"Gear up" voight said

Everybody rushed to our lockers and started gearing up. Liz rushed to the cars with her gun in hand and they pulled out of the district at the speed of light. When they arrived on scene

" Ruzec, Alvin take the front. Atwater, liz take the back me and Antonio got the side. Erin, Jay you take the street."

They spread out  and waited for voight's signal.

"Move!"

Ruzec busted down the front door. As soon as liz went to grab the handle the door flew open and the offender took off down the street liz and Atwater took off after him. Atwater split off into another alley trying to cut him off but there was a truck blocking it . Liz was hot on his trail

"We have a tall  Male offender in a black hoodie. I'm pursuing him on foot."

Just then the man stumbles and liz catches him. She tackled him to the ground. The offender tried to fight liz but she pushed his face to the ground.

"Your gonna pay for this. And your gonna wish you were never born."

This didnt bother liz she just  was trying to figure out what the man ment. Backup finally arrived. Alvin picked him up and started taking the scum bag to the cars. Antonio rushed over to liz to make sure she was ok. They all headed to the cars and drove back the district. They took the suspect to the interrogation room. Voight was stern and quite honestly terrifying when he stepped into the investigation room God knew liz didnt want to be in there.

"We have three homicides and there all gonna be on you if you dont tell us where the rest of your crew is."

After 10 min of voight just screaming at the man he finally gave in.

This was gonna be a big bust. They pulled up and all spread out. They busted down the door and infiltrated the house. They grabbed all but a few that got away. Once they hauled the scum bags to the station everyone began typing there reports. After about an hour liz sent in her report and walked over to Antonio's desk

"Hey you ready"

"Yeah just give me one second.......and done let's head to Molly's."

"Ok"

They drove to Molly's talking about the case just ready to get a good beer. When they walked in they sat down at the bar. Gabby walked up and said

"What are you drinking"

"Just a beer"

"Ohhh did you have a good day or not because  a beer ...you really?"

" I'll have you know I love beer and yeah it was kind of a rough day."

"Well I'll drink to that."

"Yep. Oh and I dont need a ride because I got a car from work"

"Oh good ."

"Well I'm gonna head to the apartment so I'll see you when I get
home."

"Ok ....matt is there so if you need anything please bug him."

"Ok I will"

Liz began driving home. When she got there she walked in on matt watching the game on tv.

" hey matt!"

" hey! How was your first day"

"Do you really wanna know"

" I will take that question back"

"Smart. Hey I left my badge in the car I'm gonna go grab it."

"Ok"

Liz was about to walk to her car when she turned and saw a car tearing off down the street with the tires squealing. Liz was suspicious but it had been a long day so she tried to ignore it. She was now halfway to her car when she clicked the unlock button on her key fob and

!boom!

Matt ran outside and saw the flames he ran over and found liz bleeding on the ground. He started putting pressure on her wounds and called 911. She had a pulse but it was weak. After he hung up with 911 he called Gabby frantically trying to explain.

"GABBY I NEED HELP GET OVER HERE NOW!"

" matt what's wrong"

"THERE WAS A BOMB ON LIZ'S CAR AND IT WENT OFF SHES BLEEDING OUT AND SHE HAS A PULSE BUT ITS WEAK."

" WHAT? OK EVERYBODY IS COMING JUST STAY CALM AND KEEP PRESSURE ON HER WOUNDS "

Gabby hung up the phone and told everyone.

" EVERYONE LIZ'S CAR HAD A BOMB ON IT AND IT BLEW UP AND SHES HURT REALLY BAD"

Antonio turned to Gabby and said "WHAT"

Matt was trying to make sure liz was alive she was burned and looked as if she had shrapnel in her.1

"Come on liz stay with me ....LIZ STAY WITH ME!"

Just then the ambulances and fire trucks showed up. Gabby and everyone finally arrived. All of 51 and the intelligence unit was there. Gabby and Antonio ran over to the anbulance. Gabby turned to matt and Antonio and said

"I'm gonna ride in the ambulance Antonio hurry and meet us there."

The ambulance was being escorted by the fire trucks and police cars.
Gabby grabbed liz's hand Just telling her to hold on. Gabby felt like her world was caveing in. Right before her eyes, her little sister was dying and she couldn't do anything about it. She felt hopeless.
