*** James's PoV***

After Carlos and I moved into our rooms we decided to take a shower. Once we were out of the bathroom Danny and Lydia where staring at us. Carlos and I shared the same look which was confusion. "What do I still have soap in my hair?" Carlos asked the two people in front of us. "No, it's just do you two normally take showers together?" Lydia asked us. "Yah we do it all the time." I said while drying my hair. "Um..are you two mates?" Danny asked us "Mates??" Carlos and I said in the same time. Stiles said Derek was his mate but I never knew what it meant. "Is a mate like a best friend? Cuz if it is then yes we are." Carlos said putting his arm around my waist. "Yah it's something like that." Lydia said than turn to Danny and pulled him downstairs.

***Lydia's PoV***

"Oh god they're clueless that they're mates and what mates are." I said to Danny. "Oh no. We are not doing that plan of yours again even though it work with Derek to realize Stiles was his mate. I nearly got killed by Derek for kissing stiles in front of him." Danny said walking away. "Oh come on! Danny!" I said trying to stop Danny from leaving but It didn't work. I walked into Derek's office. "Derek I think you need to have the mate talk with the new pups." I said to Derek who was on his laptop. "Lydia I'm pretty sure they know about mates." Derek said looking at me. "Uh no they don't they came out of the shower together! And when Danny and I asked them if they were mates. Carlos asked if mates meant best friends. And they're totally mates!" I said hoping to annoy Derek. "If I tell them what mates are will you leave me alone?" Derek said with a sigh.

***Carlos's PoV**

I was sitting on James lap sharing a bowl of fruit loops with him when Stiles Derek Scott Kira Jackson and Lydia came in the kitchen and sat in the other chairs around the table. "Hey guys what's up?" James said as I gave him a spoon full of fruit loops. "See! It's like their clueless or something!" Lydia said pointing at us. "Okay I believe you but that's probably because James was 3 when he banded from his pack and never got the memo about mates." Stiles said staring at us. "Is this because we took a shower together?" I asked carelessly. "So what were best friends we took showers together when we first met each other." James said " How about you tell us when you two first met." Derek said to James. "Well ok. I was 6 when I first saw Carlos. He was stuck in a red wood tree and asked for my help. So I climbed up the tree and told him to get on my back so I could just jump off. But I lost balanced and we fell off the tree I was able to grab Carlos and turn him so that my body would hit the ground first." James finished the story there so I could tell the rest. "He was knocked out after we fell so I dragged him to where my pack lived. My mom asked who he was while healing his body with some herbs. I said he was a kid I saw everyday by himself hunting. After he woke up my mom thanked him for saving me and asked why he was alone in the woods. His answer was I'm a alpha while making his eye turn red. My dad asked if I could join him as his beta cuz I was born different too my eyes are purple not brown by the way and my dad knew when I got older I wouldn't want to hide my eyes from anyone and he was right. From that point on we've been traveling together." I said while James nuzzled into my neck. "Wow you were right to say they were clueless Lydia." Stiles said to Lydia. I went to get up and wash the bowl but got kissed by Danny in mid walk. James growled angrily with red eyes staring at Danny. "Help!" Danny yelled before James could do anything Derek got in front of Danny and James tackled Derek to the floor. Derek roared. James got off Derek and said " What the fuck Danny why'd you kiss Carlos for he's MINE." James said in a possessive tone. "Mate is some one you love or is meant for you and well Carlos is meant for you if you nearly attacked Danny." Stiles said to James. "I guess that explains why we cuddle." Carlos said to James. "It actually explains a lot of things we do." James said kissing me on the lips
