THE ETERNAL CHOICE

The lagune

I wake up in a panic. My alarm clock went off and the time is 7:40, I am suppose to be at school at 7:45.

I rush over to the bathroom to get ready but before I can reach it, I see an old picture of my dad out of the corner of my eye

I suddenly feel it all over again. The pain of loosing my father. Tears prick at my eyes. I try to hold them back but they just stream down my face.

In a few seconds I find myself on the floor sobbing with my head in my hands.

i don't remember much about my father but feelings just hit me like this when I see him in pictures

Ava rushes into my room and hugs me tight. She calms me down and helps me off the floor.

I don't know why but I just feel a Serbian connection to Ava. Like she gets me, like she can control me in ways other people can't. Idk, maybe it is just that she gets me more than anyone else does.

I get ready for school in a hurry, but that doesn't stop me from being late.

The day goes by in a blur.i don't really seem to concentrate in class.i also haven't been able to sleep lately.

In the middle of chemistry the principle calls me to the office.at first I thought I was in trouble, but he just told me there would be two new students at the school. I don't know what this had to do with me.

The principle said I was such a "high quality" student and that since I was top of my class, I should give the new students a tour.

I didn't want to, but I could tell in the principle's eyes he wasn't going to let me say no. "Yes" I reluctantly sigh and a look of happiness spreads across his face. " You are dismissed, but remember to be up here by 6:30" he says.

Six thirty! Six thirty! One hour before I am suppose to be at school! Great.

I decided to take the bus home and clear my head. The bus ride home was a little bumpy tho.

when I get home I walk inside. I grab my homework and start doing it at the kitchen table. Ava walks into kitchen and I hear racket outside. I know that could only mean one thing. The pack was here!

Ava said they were heading down to the lagune. She asked if I wanted to come and I said yes. Even though I don't feel like socialising, I think some fun is just what I need to get all of this stress off of me.

I put on my bathing suit and head outside. Kellen stares at me( he has had a crush on me for a while) I try to avoid him because he isn't my type and I don't want to hurt his feelings.

We ride to the lagune and get out the car. We head into the cave and hop in the water.

At the lagune we splash and tag each other in the water like five year olds. We go at this for about two hours.

I get out of the water and go set by Ava on the shore. She hasn't touched the water since we got here. I think she doesn't like water.

I tell Ava I am going to get some fresh air and walk out of the cave. Outside there are just a bunch of trees near the shore line.

I walk about ten feet, then hear a noise and turn my head in that direction. I turn to the woods and see two dark figures near the edge of the woods.

They are two boys, both are talk and muscular.as I walk closer I see one boy has blonde hair to his shoulders and the other boy has short cropped brown hair.

I see that there is blood all over there bodies. I run over to see if they are okay. They don't seem to notice me running over to them because there backs are facing me, but when I get behind them I tap on the brown headed boy's shoulder.

They both turn around at the same time and I get scared. They are even taller when they are right in front of you.

They tower over me, both were about 6'6''. They looked shocked that I am in front of them.

The blonde headed guy looks down at his blood covered body, then back up to my face.

A not forms in my stomach as I realize that they are thinking about something.

We stand there in silence, as nobody speaks. But there is a Serrano understanding passed from eye glance to eye glance.

The guys look at each other and laugh. I could tell they were looking me up and down.

They boys take a step closer to me and I take a step back, until I am cornered with my back pressed against a tree.

They take a whiff of the air and breath in my scent. "Are you a wolf?" One of the boys asked. I hesitantly replied yes.

I told them my name was Maddie. The guys introduced them self's to me after I told them that. The boy with long blonde hair is Trevor, and the boy with short brown hair is jake.

I suddenly hear Ava calling out for me. "I will be right there" I respond.

I turn back around and the boys are gone.

I head back towards we're we parked and hop in the heap. We ride home in silence.
