"So where should we go first?", he asked me. I've cooled down from the fight. He looked so calm. He was staring deep into my eyes, and obviously I was staring back at his. I was lost in his green eyes. His big, beautiful bright eyes.
"Once again... Are you done checking me out?" He asked, with a smirk forming on his lips. Oh shoot... He caught me staring. My cheeks were flushed with bright red and I couldn't help but blush. We started walking towards the field, where he plays basket ball with his friends.
"Well this is where my crew and I hang out. We like playing basket ball and prepare for our big games"
I wrinkled my forehead causing my eyebrows to compress together, only leaving a slight space between them. "But there's never been a match since I have been to this school" I reply to his statements.
"Well that because the matches start next week. That's why we were practising in the morning. We also practice after school, that's if I don't have detention". After that statement came a little chuckle that seemed to make me weak by my knees."Come. There's still a lot of things I wanna show you". I followed soon behind him. We came to a stop in front of an oak door. It seemed to be hidden from the school. Like a secret passage. He opened the door and there was nothing but a narrow passage that looked fairly long.
"After you, my lady" he said with a smile tugging playfully on his lips. "No... After you. You the one who knows this place. So how can I lead you if I don't know the way, tough guy". He laughed a little, showing his perfectly aligned teeth, as white as a shining pearl. He nodded his head and went in. I followed and closed the door behind me. We continued walking for at least five minutes. The passage had a little light showing through the roof. The end of the hall had another door.
He opened the door and on the other side was a garden. But not just any garden, it was glorious. There were green trees that made shadows that stretched everywhere. The flowers were fully grown and outstanding in the garden. This space looks very peaceful. The pond was filled with little fish, only about five lily pads floating on the pond."Well, could you also explain this?" I asked, gesturing to the garden. His smile triggered my smile as he started explaining. "Okay... This is where I come for peace. When there is too much going on in my head, I just come here. My buddies don't know about this place and I'd like to keep it sacred". His smile faded away as quick as it came. He looked as if he was thinking about something deep.
I didn't wanna disturb him, so I just let him be in his own space. I think I like this guy's thinking face... It's peaceful. The eyes staring into another world as they remind me of a bright green emerald.
It's been a while since he's been just staring into space and I'm getting quite irritated. I snap my fingers in front of his face to get a hold of his attention. He also responds to my a wakening call and rubs his eyes. "Are you okay?" I asked him. He just shrugs his shoulders and stands still.
He doesn't respond, just giving me his back to talk to. He then goes in between the trees of the garden. I run after him as he enters a dark room filled with cigarettes on the floor. My face is clearly expressing the confusion right now. He digs in his left pocket and pulls out a red cigarette box. He then takes out a box of matches. Amazed, I watch in disbelief as he lights the cigarette. He puffs and huffs the cigar about four times, with each puff, the cigar slowly fading away.
He finally pats down the cigarette on the ashtray. "So... Where should we head to next?". What? He just ignored me for 15 minutes and he has the nerve to just not talk about it. "I'm not really sure... I think I should get going now. I mean..." I don't finish the sentence. It seems much harder to talk to someone who ignores you and acts like nothing freaking happened. I just turn on my heel and head out. I hear footsteps following me and a rough grasp on my wrist. I try yanking away his arm but he won't budge.
"Please just leave me alone. I need to go!" I say, rather irritated. I really don't know what's got my feelings going all over the place. I wouldn't say it's love because I've no interest in boys and especially him. I don't even have a chance on a guy like him. I really think I should go.
"Wait... Listen... I'm really sorry for what just happened. I just zoned out for whatever reason. Just... Please don't go". I took a deep breath and looked at him with nothing but a jolly expression on my face. He plasters on a smile and chuckles. "Okay... So now I think we should go to... the swimming pool in the gym hall" he says with delight in his face.
We go out through the weird passage and find our way to the gym class. The floor is spotless and gleaming. We go through another door which shows a massive swimming pool. I can't really say this is my first time seeing a pool, but this one is amazing. I walked forward to get a better view of the pool, admiring its beauty. Then suddenly my phone buzzes in my pocket. I pull it out and see a message from Julie.
Julie
Hey... Where are you??? Don't tell me you've skipped school?
I think of an answer and quickly reply to her text.
Sandra
I'm on the big 'tour' with the guy I told you about in the morning.
Julie
A tour?! A guy?! You have never told me about that girl. Spill it now!
Sandra
I'll just 'spill' it when I get there hun...
I'm shaken by a loud splash in the water. I cock my head to where I find the guy in the water, shirtless. I'm awed by how perfectly his upper body is toned.
"Well I just though since you were busy on your phone, I'm just gonna keep myself busy with something. But... Are you done?" He blurted out. I hesitate with my answer, not sure what to say. So he just takes over. "Uhmm. Okay. If you done, can you join me in the water?"
I was a bit shocked with the statement. I tried to jump to another topic but failed. There was no more hope. Good bye Sandra's dignity. I slowly pulled up my shirt. Half way through, the school bell rang, signalling the end of break. I pulled down the shirt as fast as I could, before revealing too much skin.
"Oh bummer, we could've enjoyed our swim together" he said with a sarcastic smile plastered on his lips. He boosted himself out the pool and wiped his body with a nearby towel. "Well I guess now you have to get to class and then I can change into my spare clothes in the boys locker room". I wipe an invisible sweat from my forehead and chuckle.
"So how about a hug?" He asks.
"No... I don't think so. I really want to keep myself dry until I get home". We both laugh and head in our different directions.
I get to class with a big smile across my face. Julie asks all about the tour and I update her as quick as possible, trying not to blush, but I was failing terribly.
Oh shoot... I forgot to ask for his name.
