The Game

Three

Terrah's POV

When school got out, I walked straight to the car. Even though we all agreed on meeting at the same tree we met at this morning, but I wasn't going to stand there to be teased by Shawn's stupid friends, especially after what they pulled this morning.

I made it to Bree's car and sat my stuff on the hood, since it was locked and she had the keys. They should all be here soon, though.

I pulled my phone out of my pocket and leaned on the car door, checking my texts and whatever else. After a few minutes I looked up to see if any of them were walking over here, but the only one walking was Madi, she was failing, but I saw what she was walking towards. McKenna and Aaron fucking Carpenter. I put my phone down and turned around completely, waiting to see what shit he was trying to pull on her.

I know McKenna is smarter than that, but he's friends with them, so he could easily force himself on her, and that's what I've been worried about the whole time. I saw her step away from him, but he said something and moved forward really fast and kissed her forehead before he walked away. Shady ass hole.

I could hear McKenna from all the way over here yell "What the fuck?!" and walk the rest of the way towards Madi. Of course he would do that to her, I bet it was a dare.

I sighed and grabbed my bag off the car and put it back on, assuming they would get over here in a few seconds since I saw Bre approaching them.

"Hey." I heard a familiar guys voice say to me. I looked up to see the one and only Matthew Espinosa. These boys just don't know when to stop, do they?

He kept talking to me about how he wanted Bre back but only as a friend. I snapped attitude at him a few times and blatantly ignored the rest of what he had to say as I tried to open the car door, knowing it wouldn't open but hoping it would at the same time.

Then he just stopped. I looked up for what was probably the fiftieth time and saw him making a move on Bre. He kissed her. I rolled my eyes when he walked away and flipped off his back. Even though I really wouldn't care if he saw.

Bre looked at me, clearly not knowing what to say and shrugged. "It's a game, Bre! You know it is!" I told her and sighed again, in relief once I saw Bree.

We all piled in the car. "Let's just go do something?" Bre asked.

Shawn's POV

When we got out of school, Cameron, Aaron, Jack, Matt and I decided to go to Cam's house and hang out. Cameron said we all need to talk. It's no secret what this is about, but the secret is what were all planning to do with it.

"So what are we doing?" Cameron asked us all.

"I don't know." I replied, honestly. We really got ourselves into a bad situation with this. It could make or break us, and them.

"I have it figured out, at least." Cam stated.

"We all do!" Gilinsky raised his voice and stood up, rubbing his face down awkwardly.

"Guys, they're just girls. It's not like we're trying to deal with dead bodies." Aaron laughed, we all glared at him.

"Really, Aaron? Are you in on this for real? We saw how you acting with McKenna and that was shit. The guys set us three up with the girls we like," Cameron paused to point at me and Matt, "and you two with the other two in that little clique so we would screw them all over!"

"We just.. We just have to do both." Matt said, quietly.

"Both what?" Jack asked, rudely.

"We obviously just have to figure out how to finish the bet and get what we want." Matt explained.

"It's not gonna work." I stood up and paced the room.

"We can make it work, okay?!" Aaron said, but kind of looking for us to agree just because he wants McKenna. We all know that he isn't in this for the guys, his in it for them, just like the rest of us.

"Are they going to that party tonight?" Matt asked.

"Probably, knowing Bree." I answered for all of them.

"Then let's go, get close to them?" He suggested.

"We might as well try." I shrugged and Cam nodded.

(Still Shawn's POV)

Street lights lit up the block and music blasted way louder than normal party music would be.

The guys and I made our way through the house, shoving already drunk teenagers out of our way.

There wasn't really anything to do, in fact we didn't even want to be here for anything other than the girls. I honestly wouldn't doubt that Jack or Aaron would try to win the bet tonight, though.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Terrah. I could pick her out of the biggest crowd only because she's nothing like the other girls. Especially in my eyes. She's so much better.

I quickly departed from my friends and moved through the crowd to Terrah, lightly grabbing her shoulder to turn her around.

"Hey" I smiled.

"Hi." She bluntly responded, discouraging me but I kept going anyways.

"You look beautiful." I told her. I hoped that complimenting her would win her over even just a little bit.

"No I don't, stop." She pushed past me and walked towards Bree, but that wasn't stopping me.

"Terrah, please." I followed after her.

"I don't fucking trust you! Do you not get that Shawn? You would have a better chance if you weren't following me around like a lost puppy." She sighed and turned back to Bree, who was currently ignoring Cam. "If you could prove that what Cameron said is true, I'll give you a chance."

I could easily assume that Cameron told her that I actually like her, so I did what I've wanted to do since the day I saw her. I pulled her back to me and kissed her. She didn't move away, but she didn't kiss back either.

"That's not proof, but good one." I couldn't tell if she was being sarcastic or not, but I went along with it and winked at her. I looked over to Cam. He was just sitting there next to Bree with one arm slung around her shoulder while she sat there looking pissed off.

"You guys are all telling us the same thing, but you'll have to do a better job to prove its true." Bree stood up and grabbed her purse, walking out the door.

"Nice timing, dumb asses." Terrah took me by surprise and hugged me tight, but only for a few seconds before she followed after Bree to the door leaving Cameron and I looking stupid.
