Sep’s POV
Phen is really a pain. He always bullies me. I don’t know why but I can’t seem to hate him. In a way, he always entertains me. He is also the first one to approach me when I am a new member of the music club. Maybe I’m a masochist?
“Sep! Do you want to join us buy food? We’re already hungry.” asked Liah.
“Sure! Let’s go.” Finally! I could be far away from Phen.
Liah, Mich and I go out the room to buy food. While we are walking towards the food stall, Liah started a conversation, “Sep, you seem close with Phen. Do you like him?”
I shook my head and said with conviction, “Of course not! Why would I like that bully?”
I noticed a sigh of relief come out from Liah. Then Mich suddenly said, “Sep, can you keep a secret?”
“Of course, what is it?” I said.
“Well, you see, Liah likes Phen,” followed Mich. Then I see Liah’s flushed face. I smiled because I thought a woman in love is really beautiful. But why Phen?
“Really? Well, I know he is rather good looking but I don’t seem to see anything attractive to him,” I said.
Liah defended and said, “Well you know, being good looking and a genius guitarist is just a plus for him. Phen doesn’t look like it but he really cares for people a lot. Do you remember how Phen approached you when you first joined the club? He noticed that you are not talking and is isolated from other members. He always gives a hand when people needs for help. That’s how kind he is and what I like about him.”
“I guess you are right. An eye of a person that loves someone is really different. You see things that common people wouldn’t. I really admire you for bravely admitting that you like him. I always seem to hold back whenever I like someone. It’s either I don’t admit it myself or will not tell to anyone that I like someone. In the end, I will always be alone and him being taken away. I always regret everything. So, learn from my mistakes and have courage to tell how you felt for him. I’ll support you,” I said.
“Thanks, Sep. I’ll take that in mind. Maybe I should confess to him soon,” said Lea.
It was really hard for me to talk about such things so it surprised me that I could advice something like that. I’m glad that I could be of some help with Liah. I hope she could have a beautiful love.
“I’m glad you could understand Liah and gave her an advice too. You’re really a kind girl, Sep. Don’t worry with your disappointments. You know everybody is special in somebody else’s eyes. I hope you’ll find that somebody very soon,” said Mich.
“Thanks Mich,”I said. Being able to open up is really comforting. I’m glad I joined a club two years before I graduate. I hope I’m not yet late to be close with everyone.
After buying our food, we came back to the room and see them practicing for the mini concert. These guys are really cool when they start seriously thinking about music. Then, Phen approached me with his silly smile again, “Hey, Sep you didn’t even buy for me?”
Here he goes again, I thought. “You didn’t ask me to buy for you.”
“Just give me yours. I’m really thirsty here.”
Wouldn’t that be an indirect kiss? And even after knowing that Liah likes him? How would I react? I even saw Liah looking at me at the corner of my eye. I would just make some excuse, “Is it okay for you? I’ve already drank some of it.”
“It’s ok. I’m not choosy anyway.” Then, he snatched my refreshment and drinks it. This guy really makes things difficult for me. How could I face Liah now? I hope she wouldn’t misunderstand.
