Jennifer's pov
As I entered the room of the crime scene I could see an apple on the desk behind the slightly cracked door. Opening the door I looked inside. Dried blood covered the floor of a 17 year old looking girl. Crouching down to meet her face I whispered "I'm so sorry sweetie." I didn't even notice I had started crying. Gordon,my boss, came in with tissues.
"I know how you feel. It's awful what happened here. Apparently she's a honor student at the local high school. A lot of people knew her there. Her parents were out of town for the night and found her around 4 am this morning."
I shook my head and looked away.
Grabbing the tissues from Gordon I walked away from the girl to the apple on the desk.
" Where did this come from?"
"The apple? Oh we don't know. Her parents say she hated apples. We don't know. We think the killer left it here as a message."
