Limits.
We all have them. After all, most of us are only human. But even so, the lesser human species or the higher, however you want to look at it, us: the mutants, we also have limits. There will always be a fault in everything, nothing can or will, ever be perfect.
I had my limits, but somehow it escaped my mind that the other mutants did as well. I should've never been reckless enough to get shot, because if I wasn't as reckless as I was, Junior wouldn't be coughing up blood.
"Junior!" I yelled as I dashed to his side, I bent down on my knees and did all that I could to help him. Which frankly, wasn't much, because all I could do, was pat his back and recite encouraging words. Words that probably didn't do anything, but made me feel useful when I was useless.
"I....I feel w-weird" he said groggily, finally speaking as he laid on his back, Jay and I on either side of him.
"Now that you mention it, I do to. It creepy actually, it's like--" started Jay, but then he doubled over and began vomiting. I scrunched up my nose, rejecting the horrid smell.
"Ew. That's gross, let me cover it up so we don't have to look at it" I said, making my hands rise do that the earth could swallow up the vomit. However, that's not what happened. What happened, was that the vomit rose into the air, a handful of dirt rising with it.
What.
The.
Hell?
"Uhh, uhhh, guys? How the Hell do I have Jay's telekinesis power?"
"Oh shit" said Junior, wiping leftover blood from his lips. He put his hands down on the earth, and instantly, his fingers were entrapped by stems of newly grown flowers. Something I learned to control at a young age. Junior let out a startled yelp, snatching his hands out of the encasement, while I laughed and Jay wore a look of confusion.
"Woah, woah, woah, wait a sec. So if Junior had your powers, and you have mine, does that mean I-----?" he asked, but then tested his theory by focusing on a nearby space, and then suddenly being 5 feet away from us. As he landed, he swayed from side to side, I scurried to his side, slinging his arm around my neck to keep him from falling, while Junior smirked and held a hand to his head.
"That was so cool !" yelled Jay, fist pumping the air, while I only shook my head.
"Cool? I could hop halfway around the world and back within a minute" boasted Junior and I shook my head at the two.
"Dudeeee, I am so gonna try that!"
"No Jay--" I started, but by then he was long gone.
"Don't worry, the only danger is that he'll be halfway across the told and he may never come back" said JJ, as I stared at him incredulously.
"What?!" I seethed, dirt rising from the ground thanks to my telekinesis.
"Relax princess I'm only kidding, he just has to picture one of us too--" he started, but before he could finish, I was tackled to the ground by a mass of male aka Jay.
"Ugh you fat a**, get off of me!" I yelled, using my telekinesis to push him off.
"Awe Jo-Jo, I'm offended! Does that mean I have to start dieting again?" asked Jay, and Junior answered for me.
"Yes," he said, helping me up, "you really should start a diet, you're getting fatter by the minute."
"Speaking of food," I continued, brushing the dirt off of me, "I'm hungry"
"Wanna go rob a Mickey D's?" asked Jay, and I grinned deviously.
"I was thinking more of a fancy shmancy restaurant" I replied, to which Junior raised his eyebrows.
"and why would you want to go somewhere fancy? last time I checked, fancy wasn't your thing"
I rolled my eyes at him teasingly, "Well, it's time to show the world that we're tired of being Guinea pigs! I've been beaten and abused and used past my limit, it's time to fight back!" I exclaimed, Nd was relieved when I saw the determined looks of my friends.
"Yeah, we've got to show them we are tougher than they think!" replied Jay.
"Exactly, we have to stop running from problems" added Junior.
"Absolutely, running away isn't going to help, we have to fight for freedom, and the other mutants"
