The Fire Within (A NaLu Fanfic)

Search Party

      Natsu fell nearly four stories  and landed on his feet, with Lucy and his arms he continued to run. He had no idea where he was headed, so when he felt he was far enough he paused and looked around. He didnt reconize his surroundings. None of it at all seemed familiar. Natsu panted  and yelled out. "God fucking dammit......"

      He heard the brigade of guards following him as he continued to run again. Lucy's blood covered his hands, dripping to the ground. He didn't know where the nearest village was but he needed to find it fast. 

      Lucy was barely breathing and needed help. Her wounds were deep. Gashes covered her body. He didn't want her to die. 'It's all my fault............ it's all my fault............. it's all my fault......' he repeated in his head. 

      Natsu continued to leave the area as fast as he could. He soon found a village, not a very big one, but a village. He quickly knocked on the nearest door he could find. A girl answered, maybe about 16 of age, she looks scared and weary of the stranger before her. Before Natsu could even say a word the girl yelled for her mother. "Mom there's someone here and there's a girl with him and she's hurt." Her mother rushed over and quickly brought them in. Towels were quickly brought into the room as Lucy was laid on the tile. "Please don't let her die..." Natsu begged. 

"are you hurt too?" the girl asked. "im fine" he responded.

      "I can only do my best but you need to find a doctor quickly, he lives two streets down, his home says doctor on it,  you must get to him quickly or she will die." The woman pushed him out the door and continue to work on Lucy. 

      Natsu limped down the street as quickly as he could but stopped at a sign in the middle of town. It said: "Fairy Tail is looking for the following people: Natsu Dragneel and Lucy Heartfilia. Two weeks ago they went missing and have not been seen since. If seen, please report to the local messenger immediately for them to send out a message to fairytale headquarters-Erza" 

      Natsu quickly went to gather the doctor whose house was clearly labeled and rushed back to get the girl at the home to the messenger. Once he finally walked in the door with the doctor and the doctor was working on Lucy as well he approached the girl in the corner. 

      "I'm not sure your name but do you mind doing me a favor?.... My name is Natsu Dragneel and I need you to go to the messenger here in town so that he can send a message to Fairytale that we are here." The girl became wide-eyed and looked at him with sympathy. 

      "If it is Erza and Grey that you are looking for, they actually stopped here at an inn for the night.... I can fetch them if you'd like." Natsu nodded slowly, his breathing suddenly became  labored and he felt heavy. "are you alright? do you need water? youre bleeding....." 

Natsu looked down at his now reopened wound on his stomach, it soaking the bandages. " If you could get them...... could you please I....." Natsu slowly fell to the floor unconscious.
