Who am I

that I should walk through fields of color

       without abandon,

       without worry,

       without care?

Who am I

       to breathe this air,

to feel the leaves beneath my tread,

when someone better could enjoy it instead?

Who am I

       to take a stand,

when someone else would have the upper hand?

Who am I

       to question me,

to look in the mirror and see

       someone not worth believing?

       someone not worth the space

       the time,

       the energy?

Who am I

to judge myself purely by my mistakes,

        my flaws,

       my very thoughts?

There is not a man

       on this Earth

       who is able to decide

       where his value lies,

       or answer the question,

       'who am I?'
