A lie, a mistake

Francis and Mary were walking through the castle and cuddling. They were so happy together! Just married and with a baby on the way. Everything was perfect! Maybe.. Maybe too perfect to be real.

Suddenly, Kenna came from nowhere, with a shocked face.
"Francis, I have to..Oh! Mary, I didn't know you were here."
"Kenna, what happened?" asked Mary.
"Mary.. Look.. I have to talk to Francisc, but just for a moment. After that, he will be all yours".
Kenna faked a smile. She was very woried and she figured out that something wasn't right, but she didn't say a word.

Kenna and Francisc straighteded a bit far from Mary.
"Kenna, what is it? You know you can't just come to me when Mary is here."
"You know I don't..Unless is a very important thing to discuss"
"Go on then"
"Well.. I am un-hm.. I am.."
"Kenna, God's sake, TELL ME!"
"I am pregnant.. And the baby it's yours."
Francisc didn't know what to say anymore.
"Kenna, you lie! He can't be mine! He can't! It happened just once!"
"I think it was enough.."
"Kenna, I'll ask you just one time and I want a clear answer! ARE YOU SURE?"
"More than I've ever been.."
"Well.. In that case.. I don't have anything else to do but to tell Mary. It will ruin out marriage and our future, I am sure of that, but is better to tell her the truth.. Right, LADY KENNA? Are you listening to me?"
"I am. And I think it's not good for Mary's baby to be exposed at stress and sadness. It's better for her if she doesn't know, believe me. At least until her baby is born."

Francis got back to Mary with a fake smile on his face.
"What's wrong?" asked Mary a bit suspocious.
"Nothing, my love.. Nothing.."

The time passed fast and Mary gave birth to a son. Everyone was so excited for them!

While Mary was walking through the garden with her baby, James, Kenna came from nowhere.
"Oh my God, Kenna, where have you been? I haven't seen you for an year I think!"
Mary jumped to hug Kenna but she made a step back.
"Mary, I have to tell you something, and it isn't very good. I am in a huge problem."
"Kenna, I am your friend! We will manage it together!"
"Mary.. I have a daughter."

Mary almost fell, but she kept her calm.
"Whose is the child?"
"It's.. It's Francisc's.."
"I b-beg you p-pardon?"
"I don't lie... Ask Francisc"

Later that day Mary went to Francisc with a demoralized look in her tired eyes.
"Francisc, I'll ask you just one time. Do you and Kenna have a child?"
Tears were ready to full her eyes, but she kept them inside.
"Mary, I can explain you, just let me!"
"I've already got my answer.. Thank you."
"Mary.. Please.."
"Don't you dare.." said Mary touching Francisc on his chest.

Mary left the room with tears on her cheeks. She wasn't angry. She was dissapointed. Her husband! Her friend! She couldn't believe it.

That night Mary couldn't sleep. She couldn't think at a logical explication.
Suddenly, someone knocked on the door.
"Come on in"
"Mary, it's me.. Kenna"
"Come.."
"Mary, I need your help. My daughter, Rose.. I don't know what to do with her.. I can't take care of her by myself."
And you need ME to take care of her? YOU DID THIS! IT'S YOUR FAULT! "
" Mary, it was a mistake.. "
" It was a choice! We do choices! THIS CHILD IS BECAUSE OF YOUR CHOICE!"
"Mary...it happened just once.."
"ENOUGH! GET OUT OF MY CHAMBERS RIGHT NOW!"
Kenna left with tears running down her face. She understood Mary. She understood she made something not really good. She wished that nothing happened.

*After some years *
Well, this story won't have a happy ending. Or.. It will? Let me remember.. Oh, got it!

Mary punished Kenna by sending her far away from the castle with her daughter.
Also, she forgave Francis, but just because he promised to never go at any other woman again. She promised too that she will love him 'till the day they will die and that she will offer him everything he needs to be happy.

They grew James together and they lived happyly ever after.
And if I remember well, Kenna married with a rich man and grew her daughter well, in peace and love.
