The Lost Child

Chapter 2

It was an average day, I woke up and brushed my hair. Then joined my 14 year old brother and my mum and dad for breakfast. Mom headed to work in the middle of my bowl of cereal, she hugged me and Alfie goodbye. After finishing my breakfast I headed to brush my teeth and go for my morning run. Just an average morning routine of the summer break.

But today there was a knock at the door, I answered since it was on my way to my room.

"Hello?" I answered

"Hii!! I'm looking for Craig!" he was enthusiastic

My dad was behind me by the time so I headed to my room.

-Doctor's POV-

"Craig! I came to check on the girl, did Sophie rent a room?" I was confused

"Noo that's her..."

"It's only been 2 months " I was really lost

"It's been ten years, Alfie is even all grown."

I was in shock.

She walked in, "so who is this?" She pointed towards me "sorry for pointing"

"This is the Doctor"'

Her eyes got gigantic "the Doctor" she had emphasis in her words.

"Yes" Craig nodded

"Thank you" she smiled at me and waved goodbye.

I got up, Craig tailing behind me.

"Doctor I wouldn't go in there, she only allows Sophie in"

I stepped into her room her walls were covered in pinks, purples, oranges, and blues of lights she had around her room. A galaxy bed spread, simple white furniture, and some matching colored rugs, but she has incredible TARDIS paintings, a large one on the back wall away from the door, some of the console, some of the materialization orbs, and I noticed an unfinished, started one on an easel in the hall.. All are in different styles..

"I knew I saw something in her eye" I spun to Craig and smiled, hearing Alfie's video game in the background. I told him I'd be back and headed off out the door...

-Pam's POV-

I was almost done my stretch and I was about to make my run back around. I noticed a group of boys from school.

"Hey freak, your doctor show up yet?" I kept running until I was stopped

"Where's his blue box"

"The only box you'll see is a padded one"

I kept backing away. This was normal... not on my run though.

"I believe you young men should go" it was the doctor!!!

"And you are?!" One spoke

"The Doctor" he was stern, "Now if you don't mind I must be getting this young lady home!" He stuck out his arm for me to take and I gladly did. We walked toward the alley way, towards the TARDIS. The boys just gawked and punched one another in frustration.

As we got inside he turned towards me, his face no longer brave.

"How often does that happen?" He asked looking sad..

"Frequently but not normally anywhere open like that.."

He walked towards me and held my face between his hands.

"You are a brilliant girl, I've seen what you are capable of!"

He let go and I hid my face, which was bright red.

He was quiet while the TARDIS hummed, once the humming stopped he spoke with amusement,

"Open the door and look outside" he was smiling.

I walked over to the door and opened it. Outside was the most beautiful sight.

"It's beautiful and more than I could ever imagine"

"I know it is" he was now beside me.

"Where are the two that were here before?" I asked

"Off visiting their families, I have to get them soon" he let out a puff of air and shut the door

He went back to the console and leaned over it, he looked troubled..

I reached towards him,

"Docto-" he cut me off

"Wanna travel?" he asked panicked

I smiled "Of course"

A huge smile crossed his face "should we go ask your father"

"Why not" I shrugged
