“So are you saying that we may have to interrogate everyone who deals with Valerian?” Someone in Kira's group asked. They had been having another secret meeting in the defense meeting room.

“That would alert just about everyone.” Another one chimed.

“We are not going to interrogate anyone...” Kira finally spoke, “... yet. We need to watch some of the prime dealers and watch their actions and then we will interrogate the suspicious ones.” She explained.

“But this is very time consuming and time is the one thing we don't have.” One said.

“This is not my favourite plan either but what else do we have? We still have no news of the people that took him or any clue he might have managed to leave behind. This the only thread we can grasp on.” Kira responded. Truth was she was very frustrated by her failure, first, in protecting him and then, being unable to find him. With each passing minute the opportunity to find him was getting slimmer and slimmer. She wanted to scream and cry but this was the last thing she could afford to do at present. So she stifled her feelings once again and focused on the task ahead.

Afterwards, they all stepped out of the meeting hall and went in their respective directions. Kira made way to her room, wondering how long could she go on in the little amount of rest she was taking, through the long corridor that housed the Royal Court and the defense meeting room. A moment later, she turned her head up to see the Senior Viceroy strolling along from the opposite direction.

The Viceroy bowed slightly as he faced her and Kira acknowledged it with a subtle nod and almost passed him by. But she took only one or two steps forward and suddenly her voice roared from end to end of the hallway,

“Guards! Capture him!” She turned swiftly and pointed at him. Within half a second his hands were restrained by the guards present in the hallway. Everything happened so fast it startled him, the guards and even Kira herself but she was sure of what she was doing.

“Your Majesty?!” He looked at her with horrified eyes as if asking her what he had done.

“Take him where he belongs and get him ready to talk.” She commanded in a low but furious voice as she glared intently into his eyes.

Without a moment’s delay, Kira’s wishes were carried out and the Senior Viceroy was dragged away. Kira returned to her room but only for a few moments, to take a deep breath and plan for the task ahead and then she hastily made way out of the room, her laced boots clicking against the floor.
