"Hey, kid, wake up!". I felt someone's hand on my shoulder. "Ugh" I sighed as he jiggled my sore arm. "It's ok I found some bandages and tried to stop the blood. Everything slowly went into focus. I was still on the floor in the lab, the glass was still on the floor from what I had accidentally broken earlier. There was a guy in front of me. He didn't have a uniform so I don't know where he came from, he had white hair and was wearing a t-shirt and baggy jeans. I tried to get up, I wanted to know what was going on but I couldn't seem to speak. "Shhh it's ok, don't sit up just relax" he said calmly. I tried to speak to him but it didn't really work, I just opened my mouth and stammered. "T-thank yo-u", I said, it was the only thing I could say. "Heh, no problem" he said. I closed my eyes. I wanted to be safe, be out off this hellhole. "Ok I think that's the best I can do" he said as he finished cleaning my other wounds. "I'm not exactly a doctor but when we get home we can get you some healers and they can fix you up properly. "W-where?" I stammered, very confused. "I'll tell you later, when you feel a little better" he said. Now that he mentioned it, after all that excitement I did fell really horrible. I sighed in pain. "It's ok the trip there is only a week", he said as he picked up a backpack he had put on the floor. Then I finally realized, I don't know this person.
He is going to take me somewhere and for all I know it could be worse then here! I moved back, it was painful but I did it. "This is not the time too freak out, don't worry I'm taking you somewhere safe" he said calmly but kind of annoyed this time. I stayed in place, he could be with the other people and he just wanted information that I don't even know. I started breathing heavier, my tail got more puffy and my nails got sharper. The guy sighed. "Chill, I'm not gonna hurt you, I thought we went over this". He said. His voice made me want to trust him but the fear was still in my mind. I felt warmth on my hand and I threw it at him. But what I thought would make him scared kind of did the opposite as a gust of wind blew the fire away into nothingness. I sat there, the fur on my tail went back to normal and my nails went back to normal too. "See, you need to chill. Now come one we have to go." Just as he said that I heard footsteps. "We have to go now, so do you trust me or not" he said a little more frantic. I thought for a moment, "yes".
He scooped me up and he started to run. The soldiers were here and they bashed the door open. They started to shoot. The guy did a good job at dodging the as he ran towards the door. A gust of wind blew the guards down and he ran through the door. He ran into the hall and burst through the door to the stairs. Four more soldiers came behind us. I shot a fireball at them and they were unfazed. There armor was fire proof. He ran up the stairs and pushed the doors open with wind. There were a ton of guys waiting for us. At least fifty soldiers with guns and armor. I looked around. It was the from room of the building. It had couches and desks and a big skylight..."SKYLIGHT" I screamed. He got the message and made a huge gust on wind on the skylight. Glass came raining down on all the soldiers. While they were distracted he ran to the exit. We were free. The sweet smell of fresh air hit my nose. All around us was a chain link fence with barbed wire on the top. "Now what" he sais. I could hear footsteps coming, we had about a minute. The gate was also chain link but you needed a card to swipe to get out. "I know" the guy said and put me on the ground in front of the fence. "Now use your fire stuff" he said. "How?" I say. "Well I don't know how did you use your magic last time?". I thought for a moment. I put my hands on the metal and thought about those people and the pain of when I was in that room. How they had hurt me. I felt my hands heat up and the metal start to melt. I thought about how much I wanted to leave. I felt him scoop me up as he crouched through the hole I had made. He ran into the forest. I heard footsteps behind us and I felt bullets fly by. One went right over the guys head and I saw the air around just over his head move wired like there was something there and then it went back to normal. I ignored it and we kept going, shooting through the woods.
We were deep into the woods. I could tell he was getting tired, after all he wasn't just running he was also carrying me. "Here I can run I can tell you're getting tired," I say. "Are you sure," he asks back, like he knows it's just cause I feel bad. "Yes I'm sure," I say. He stops and puts me on the ground. I wobble a bit but I can stand. "Ok we have to run," he says again as we hear the army of people get closer. I start to run. It's way harder then I thought it would be. I wonder how long I was in that lab. Honestly I didn't really want to know. I stumbled once or twice but it was getting easier. I was speeding up. The guy looked impressed. Then I stoped, fast. "Shit..." he said as he looked down. A giant cliff was right in front of us. And the footsteps were getting closer.
"WHAT DO WE DO NOW" I screamed. How do we get out?
"Well first of all don't scream, that way they'll know exactly where we are," he said calmly. We sat there for a few seconds. "Hmmmm" the man said.
"What?" I asked. Suddenly I felt air under me.
"Good luck and don't move," he said. Before I had time to think I was falling off the cliff. Was the man secretly trying to kill me? Is this his plan? Am I going to die falling off a cliff and my body squishing on the grass? At least I'll have been free and not tortured to death I guess. Then I felt a gust of wind under me. I looked up and the guy was focusing really hard. I could hear him mutter a faint "yes". I was floating in the air. Almost halfway down the cliff. Slowly I floated down the cliff. It was actually very pleasant. Until I looked up. There were the men. In their armor behind him.                    "LOOK BEHIND YOU!" I screamed, but it was to late. I was falling and he was being tackled. No no no! I don't want to go back! I don't want to go back to the lab, and die! I felt my body burn. But this was different. I felt it burn. It felt good. A shot of black fire flew off of me. The fire shot in to the air, right onto ruffly where the guards are. I couldn't tell what happened to them, they were to high up. The fire that still surrounded me was still burning painfully. Then I remembered I was still falling. I was still going to die. I felt the ground under me... I felt the ground under me? I wasn't dead? How? How did I not die on impact? I looked under me. It was charred to a crisp. And under me was a little patch of air, just keeping me of the ground. He saved me. "ARE YOU OK??" I screamed. He better not be dead. I looked around. There wasn't much there just trees and the giant rock wall in front of me. What was I gonna do? Just then I saw his head peer from over the cliff. "I... I think I'm ok" he said panting. He stood up and screamed "I'm coming down!" "Do you have enough... wind stuff left?" I asked. ""I hope so" he said. Then he jumped off the cliff and floated down. I ran over to where he was gonna land. I heard a thud and ran faster, but without much success since I was badly injured. I did a sort of waddle to where he had fallen and saw him. He was on the ground, a huge cloud of dust from the spot where he landed. "Hey are you ok!?" I spluttered as the dust filled my lungs, worried about what his answer would be. "Kori" He said. "What?" I asked. "My name is Kori."
