Do you ever just sit alone in a quiet place and think about all the bad parts of your life? Wonder what you've done so wrong to deserve all the pain you've felt?

If it makes you feel any better, I am sure you haven't been through what I have been through...

I was just a child when it all started. Fourth grade...

I still remember that day perfectly.

I got up, kind of happy, kind of full of energy, but not that enthusiastic, since another school day was about to start. I went to the bathroom, washed my face, brushed my teeth, looked at myself in the mirror and told myself how pretty I looked that day.

I went to the kitchen, where I met with my parents.

"Good morning, kiddo," my mother smiled at me, as she was putting my cereal on the table, waiting for me to sit down and eat.

The TV was on, since my father always watched the news channel in the morning, before he leaved to work.

"Everybody is freaking out over the disease, called <<omverosydia>>, which affects all of the human body organs, causing slow and painful death after a week of living with it. The doctors are doing their best to find a cure and save people's lives, but the most we can do right now is have hope that we will be part of the survivors. Please, take care of yourselves," the TV presenter spoke.

I had no idea what she was talking about and I definitely was not aware of how dangerous this omverosydia thing was.

"They ran out of subjects to discuss, again, I guess," my father laughed at the news, bringing his suitcase and heading to the door. "Have a good day, girls," he smiled once again before he left the house.

"Yeah, that's stupid," my mother looked at me. "How can only one disease affect all of your organs? That's impossible," she laughed at what the woman from the TV said.

I went upstairs and got ready for school, leaving my house 10 minutes later.

When I arrived in my classroom, I noticed how weird was the teacher acting. It was like... She was afraid of something.

I sat down and waited for the lesson to start, when the school doctor came inside the room, also looking very afraid of something.

"Children, I think you all have heard about omverosydia, but if you haven't, well all you need to know is that you need to come to my medical office, just because I need to check some things. You don't have to worry, I already called your parents and told them what is going on. I will be waiting for you there," the doctor explained.

After the lesson was over, I went in the hallway and waited for my parents to arrive. In that moment, I was very scared knowing that this sickness could actually be true, and it could actually kill me. I was so scared of death by that time. Even though I was only 10, I really wanted to grow up, live my life, get married, have kids, my own family... just like any other normal person.

A while later, my mom and dad finally arrived, held my hands and we walked together to the doctor's office. There were so many people outside that place. A lot of parents with their kids, telling them that everything was going to be fine and that nobody's going to get sick... It was just like a horror movie scene.

We waited outside until the doctor said our name, which meant it was our turn to go inside.

"Don't be scared, Lara. You are not sick. None of us is. It's all going to be fine," my mom whispered to me as we were walking inside of the office.

"Hello, Ms. and Mrs. James, hello, Dilara," the doctor started the conversation.

After we all said hello, he started getting some medical instruments and a bottle of... something.
