The Guide to Owning Hamsters

Intro

Hello! So this really isn't a book. It's just a guide. Well it will be filled with some stories. I just thought the world needed to know about theses little hamsters.

Now lets introduce the hamsters:
Theodore (Theo)

Finch

So me and my sister decided to get two boys. They are both ours but Theo is more mine and Finch is more my sisters.

We purchased these cute things and came home. The cage was quite hard to set up but we figured it out. They were terrified of us. They have gotten used to us but at this point they were super scared.

Hamsters bite you when they don't recognize your smell. It may be hard or soft but they do.

Because of this we put gloves on when we first held them. Well we didn't at first. My sister took Finch out of the cage. (Remember it was the first night so he was terrified.) He leap out on her hands then I grabbed him. After seconds he leaped out of my and they we somehow got him back in the cage. I felt bad for the little dude but he was fine.

So then day two came along.

Hamsters are nocturnal.

So they pretty much slept all day. But around eight is when they start waking up and they go crazy. It is actually quite funny. So I started petting them and I reached the point were they both didn't really bite me. They still weren't super comfortable with me but it was an upgrade. Theo even let me hold him.

We have had them for about five days now and they are so sweet.

I forgot to mention we have two cats. So we have been doing our best to keep the hamsters a secret. It been going pretty well. At one point we should be able to let the cats in our room more often but not when the hamsters are still settling in. The guy at Petsmart said cats sometimes react to hamsters but a lot of the time don't. Some cats are scared of hamsters. The thing is I would 100% believe that except one of my cats is different. She is a little brat sometimes but I love her. My other cat would not really care but Misty might. I actually have a story on Scally and the hamsters but give me a sec.

    So you get my point.

I know this is about hamsters but my cats are going to be a part of this too. They one day may meet the hamsters. Well Scally actually has.

So I was not home but apparently he met them. Last night my Mom and sister were in our room looking at the little boys. The door was open and without anyone noticing Scally came in. He went over to my dresser. That is were the cage is. He reached up and stared in to their cage. Then my Mom took him away.

So Scally now knows of them but I don't think he cares to much, but we never know.
