Elizabeth's pov:
Before long we were deep in the woods. "Sir Meliodas, where are you taking me?" I asked him quietly.
"So a few days ago I went for a walk through the woods to clear my head and I found this," We abruptly stopped and I almost flew out of his arms, the only thing that stopped me was his firm grip on my backside.
"Uhm, Lord Meliodas, can you please let go of me now?" I asked him with a line of red going across my cheeks.
"Oh, yeah, sorry, it's just so soft," He said and then began to walk forward. I turned around to face the direction he was and gasped. Standing in front of us was a ginormous house in the trees.
"What is that?" I asked in a surprised tone. My cheeks were still pink from before but the blush was dying down.
"Exactly what it looks like, a treehouse." Sir Meliodas strode over to the bottom of the grove it was sitting on. "You coming or what?"
"Yeah," I quickly went to stand next to him.
"Follow me," Meliodas pulled on the ladder once to assure that it was stable and then quickly climbed it. It took me a little longer but eventually I got to the top. "Hey there," he said with a grin that made my stomach do flips. Sometimes he could be so charming.
"Hehe, yeah, does anyone own this?" I asked him timidly.
"Not sure," Meliodas shrugged and walked over to the corner of the platform with a hammock.
"Oh, uhm, okay." I sat on the ground next to the hammock. "Why'd you bring me here anyways?"
"To talk," That was all he said for a while. I sat there just thinking. I'd been in love with him for a while and being around him made me so happy. He was kind, and good hearted. And when I looked at Meliodas it was all I could do to not pull him into my arms and kiss him.
"About what?" I asked him, snapping out of my daydream.
"You've been acting weird lately," Meliodas said still rocking in the hammock.
"Uhm, eh heh. Well, it's just I've had a lot on my mind lately," I said trying to find an excuse.
"Care to share?"
"I mean, I, er, we, well, uh, I kind of wanted to tell you something." I blurt out with a large red blush covering my face.
"Yeah? And what is it that you want to tell me?" Somehow he had the ability to get me to tell him something without wanting to. But deep down I knew I wanted and needed to.
"I- well, I have feelings for you, strong ones." There was no going back after that.
His rocking suddenly stopped and he slowly looked at me, his eyes were wide and he put a hand in his hair. Not believing my eyes I swore I saw a blush tinting his cheeks. "You, you do?"
"I'm sorry, I know that you're still in love with Liz and I know that you don't feel the same way but I needed to tell you!" I stood up and started pacing already regretting my saying anything.
"Elizabeth, you're right. But only partly, I do love Liz but not in the sense you assume. I'm always gonna cherish her and the memories I have with her in my heart. But that doesn't mean I don't feel anything towards you. Because, truth is, I've been in love with you ever since I saved you from Danafor all those years ago," By then there was definitely a blush but he also seemed strangely more confident than before. Meliodas got up and made his way toward me. And for once, I didn't step back. He grabbed my waist but not in the usual fiery almost aggressive way, but gently. Leaning down I put my face a mere few inches from his. His jade green eyes looked right into my sapphire and gold ones before he closed the distance between us. His lips were softer than I expected and the kiss was gentle and sweet, but not exactly innocent. More tender in a way. After a few seconds that felt like an eternity we pulled away. My blush had never been brighter and he was sporting one as well.
"That- that was," I struggled to find words.
"Perfect." Was all he said. And in that moment I knew, I'll fight to protect what we have. No matter the cost.A/N; what's up :p I've really enjoyed writing these and I hope you enjoyed reading them as well! ~ Author-chan
