Twelve people dressed in a strange mix of finery and bloodstained amour stood around a young man in the coffin covered in blood and wounds. The man the in coffin was no longer breathing but had a pale yellow glow surrounding him. A woman with slender horns and dressed in heavily embroidered gown was touching the man in the coffin and producing the yellow glow.
"The ritual must be done now, I can not maintain the his lifeforce much longer"
At her words, the group looked at each other and moved into a circle and joined hands. They began to chant in an old language. Colours arose from each of them and settled over man forming complicated lines and runes that centered over his heart. After half an hour the chanting faded.
"Will the ritual really work? It is meant the aid in recovery of major wounds, yes, but it has never been done once breath has been stopped." A man with wounds of his own that had just stopped bleeding, asked worriedly.
"It should but the length of the sleep is directly related to the severity of the wounds. We are on top of the ley lines, they will aid in his recovery, but who knows how long it will be until Kassian wakes again." The woman in the gown replied tiredly.
"We must leave. The battle just ended, and we are needed to help with the aftermath."
"We are the ones the soldiers and citizens and praising for ending the war and the 'bloody reaper' we killed with our own hands was the found who worked the hardest to end the great war." A burly man with rough horns punched the wall of the cave in fury while tears fell.
"The very least we can do for him now is the ensure the council he founded maintains the peace so that when he wakes up it can enjoy the peace."
"You're right, lets make the world he believed in when we were children and fought his whole life for a reality when he wakes up."
The group began to leave the cave with the coffin. One of the men dressed in finery closed the door and began the draw more runes on the door. "No one but us will be able to see or open the cave until Kassian is ready to wake."
