Falling In Love With Him

1: Finally, a job!

Samantha woke up, and still frustrated about not finding a job. "Welp, I might be broke forever then" she sighed. For the past few days, she had been searching every newspaper for a job. Unfortunately, she couldn't find one. Her best friend, Claire offered her a job but Samantha, being stubborn, declined the offer.

"Time to get up" she said as she fixed her tangled up hair. Her stomach was begging for food ever since last night. Sometimes, she would go to her friend's house, Claire to ask for food. Crazy, I know. But, Samantha, doesn't rely on her friends and family that much. She's determined to find a job, get rich, pay for her dad's hospital fee and take care of her family.

Her soft delicate feet touched the cold floor. Samantha shivered. Standing up, she decided to take a bath. Usually, it would take 7-10 minutes for her to finish but today, she decided to stay in the shower for 22 minutes and sort out her thoughts.
"How am I ever gonna get a job" she sighed.

Ring the doorbell, Samantha waited outside Claire's house. Soon, a head was poke out the door. "Samantha!" Claire said, smiling at Samantha. Claire gladly opened the door and said "Come in". Samantha sat down in the couch and closed her eyes. Claire sat down beside Samantha "Hey, what's wrong?" Claire said, poking Samantha's cheek.

Samantha sighed, not answering Claire's question. "Sam? Tell me what's bothering you." Still, no answer. Claire pouted and crossed her arms, and thought. "Oh!" Claire said making Samantha look at her. "You're here for food, am I right?" Claire said chuckling. "I knew you're too broke and couldn't go to the store and buy food. Haha."

Samantha glared at Claire and soon it turned into laughter. "What? No way! I ate bread this morning. And besides, if I was hungry, I wouldn't go to your house. But instead, I'd buy in the store. And I'm not broke, you meanie!" Samantha sticked her tongue out at Claire.

"Hey! I was just joking!" Claire said and laughed. "But, anyways, why are you here though?" Claire said, tilting her head. Samantha sighed and looked at her best friend in the eye and said "I need a job." Claire was silent for a moment then squealed. "Oh my goodness! You wanna work in my dad's company?" Claire said hugging Samantha happily. "I'll tell my dad, okay?"

Samantha shook her head. Claire's happiness faded away and was replaced by a frown. "Do you hate me? Is that why you don't want to work in my family is company?" Claire said, looking down. Samantha hugged Claire "Claire, please don't get upset! You know I hate it when you get sad! And no! I don't hate you. Why would you think of that?" Samantha said as she patted Claire's back and comforted her.

Claire hugged Samantha back and her eyes beamed with happiness. "So, does that means you'll be working in my family's company?". Samantha sighed "I'd love to! But Claire, you know me, I don't wanna rely on you too much. You're my best friend and I don't want to trouble you." Samantha said smiling at Claire. Claire nodded her head "I understand. You are an independent woman Sam and I don't want you to force yourself" Claire said smiling back at Samantha.

"Just let me know if you change your mind, okay?"
Samantha nodded her head. Claire's smile widened "Wait" Claire said, looking at Samantha "Sam, if you're not gonna work in my family's company, then where are you gonna get a job?" Claire said, worry lacing her voice. "Actually I was going to-" Before Samantha finished her sentence, Claire interrupted and said "Oh! I know! I found this advertisement in my phone yesterday, saying they were looking for a secretary! And you know what? You get to work for Eisuke Ichinomiya! The hot CEO of Tres Spades! The biggest and richest company in the world!" Claire said shaking Samantha.

"Omg! Really?" Samantha jumped with happiness. "Uh, yeah, duh" Claire said chuckling. "Thank you so much, Claire! I finally have a job! Yes!" Samantha said, hugging Claire. "Of course, anything for my best friend" Claire said and hugged Samantha back. Samantha looked at her watch and realized that it was already time for lunch.

"Hey, Claire, it's already time for lunch. Wanna go out?" Samantha said and continued "My treat" Claire cupped her cheeks and said "Aww. Thanks! You know, I found this really good Chinese restaurant just across the street. We should check it out" Samantha nodded and both of them went outside.
