The screeching of my alarm pulled me out of my deep, dreamless sleep. I lurched forward, rubbing my eyes as I climbed groggily out of bed. Stumbling over to the bathroom I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste, I groaned when I saw my light brown hair sticking up in different directions and full of knots.  After cleaning my teeth I rummaged through my drawers frantically looking for my hairbrush and contact lenses. Where had I put those lenses? I sighed in relief when I held the small case in my hand. Once I finished putting them in the room around me cleared, I blinked for a moment before groaning. My hairbrush was right in front of me, on top of the sink!

"Meg! Meg the bus will be here in 10 minutes!" My mothers voice came from downstairs and I panicked. Crap, only 10 minutes to tame my bed head, change out of my PJ's and have breakfast. I scrambled over to my dresser and picked out some jeans and a black singlet top, I flinched as a knot came undone. I checked my clock, 7:55 am, damn. I raced down the stairs and snatched dads slice of jam toast, ignoring his protests as I flew out the door.

I leaned on the bus stop sign as I panted heavily, I checked my phone. 7:57am, thank god. I searched through my backpack looking for my ipod. I placed my headphones in and cringed at the miniscule amount of sound, I turned the volume up high and smiled as Turn all the Lights On by T-Pain blasted into my ears. I bopped my head to the beat lightly and got out my wallet as the bus arrived. The doors opened and I handed a five dollar note over nonchalantly. The driver was just about to give me my change but I shook my head and instead searched for an available seat.

I groaned inwardly at the silent screaming and ranting of the kids before me, thankful for my headphones and Ipod. I sighed and resigned to sitting next to some overweight kid who was hopeful that no one was looking when he picked his nose. I cringed and sat down next to him, almost gagging when I realised that he seriously needed deodorant.  I pushed my backpack between us and leaned back on the old bus seat. I listened silently to the music and mouthed the words, that I knew, while waiting for the bus to arrive at school. Every few minutes or so the vehicle would lurch forward causing me to almost smack my forehead onto back of the seat in front of me.

I felt the footsteps of someone who had gotten onto the bus and opened my eyes briefly. It was just an average chick, dressed in a blue shirt and light denim jeans she shrugged into a seat next to her friends, cramming one into the wall of the bus. I closed my eyes again and let out a shocked cry as my head came into contact with the backboard of the seat in front of me. Something wet and warm ran down my face and I tried to touch it, flinching at the pain.

"Holy crap, are you alright?" A dreamy voice asked. I tried to reply but all that came out was a small whimper, attempting to stand up ended up failing as well, instead I fell into the arms of someone. I looked up and my mouth almost fell to the floor, a guy with hair as black as night and eyes as blue as the sky met mine. I nodded slightly and noticed that one of my headphones had fallen out of my ears.

"Y-Yeah, I think I'll be okay." I managed to choke out before the bus pulled up at school. I snatched my backpack from the seat I had been on and stumbled off the bus. I touched my forehead and looked at the fresh red blood on my fingertips, I sighed and made my way over to the nurses office, face still flushed from that strange boys touch.

"You'll be alright darling. Nothing too serious but best to rest for a while and keep that ice on it." I nodded and lay back on the plain white sick bed in the nurses office. I rummaged through my jean pockets and was shocked to find the absence of my Ipod. Mum was going to kill me! Where could i have lost it? An image flashed through my mind, when I struck my head. Could it have fallen out of my pocket then?

"How am I going to find it? I don't even know which bus i was on." I whined. As if right on cue the door opened with an audible squeak and I gasped as the boy from before entered the room with my Ipod in hand.

"I think this might be yours." His smile dazzled me, and as he walked over towards me I realised that I had been holding my breath. I held my hand out weakly and he placed my Ipod in it, his fingers brushed up against my palm and a shot of electricity was sent through me. I struggled to prevent myself from gasping and only whispered a light thank you.

"Um, may I ask you name?" He asked shyly, his face slightly flushed as he rubbed his neck.

"It's Meg Wilson, what's yours?" I glanced at his blue eyes as they bore into me and he shook out of his daze.

"Sorry, I'm Evan, Evan Davies." He outstretched his hand and in return I shook it, his grip was firm but not to hard. I smiled and he looked away, pain in his eyes, I stared after him, confused.

"Evan is something wrong? I'm sorry, did I do something?" He turned back to me, a cold, dark look in his eyes and yanked his arm away.

"Nothing is wrong. You just..... God dammit!" He smashed a fist against the wall and slammed the door behind him as he left. Moments after he left the nurse came rushing back inside.

"Oh dear, did something happen? Are you alright?" I shook my head lightly and gripped my Ipod harshly. What was that?

"Sorry, but I think I'll go home for today, I'm not really feeling well at all." The nurse nodded and gave me one more check up before sending me home wondering who the hell Evan Davies was.
