Chapter 2
I woke up and slipped out of the bed that Lina and I had made for me. I giggled quietly to find that she was still snoring away, drool dripping from her mouth. Her blonde hair was pooled around her head onto her pillow. I strained to hear her as she whipered softly.
"No please, don't leave.....Allan." I held my breath, cheeks puffed up as I struggled not to laugh. I tiptoed out fo her room and into the main bathroom to brush my teeth and tame my wild bed head. But just as I walked throught he door my jaw dropped. My hair was noticeably several tones darker, an almost black brown now. I walked towards the mirror and gasped as I saw that my eyes had lost all signs of ever having blue in them at any point, now they were a bright emerald green. What's going to happen to me? A strange gust of wind swept through the room and I shivered fiercly, though cold somehow it felt familiar, as if it were calling to me.
"Willow, oh Willow." I heard a soft whisper in my ear and I searched around for the source, shocked. I hastily brushed my teeth and tamed my newly colored hair and zipped out of the room, afraid of the reflection dwelling within the mirror. My stomach growled loudly and I shuffled over to the kitchen, grabbing a plate before popping a couple of slices of toast into the toaster. I had to fish around the fridge to find my favorite homemade strawberry jam and gave a whoop of joy when I finally found it, hidden somewhere in the back. My toast popped and I grabbed it almost burning my fingers before placing it on my plate and smothering the poor innocent bread with jam. As I began to walk over I heard Lina's heavy footsteps from her room just before she walked into the kitchen.
"Gooooooood mornin'!" I cried happily to her. She smiled back, still sleepy from waking up moments ago.
"Morning. Dyed your hair or something? Wow what's up with your eyes?" Her groggy eyes widened at the brillinace and change of my own. She picked up a strand of darkened hair and I shook my head.
"Nope. Strangely enough it's natural." I flopped onto the couch and took a big bite of toast. Strawberry jam, yum!
After breakfast I decided it was time for me to go home. Lina whined on about having to clean up the mess we had made and I insisted that we had to tidy it up. We walked into her room and groaned loudly as we saw the mess. Pillows were strewn all over the place, my bed was half stripped already from my strange sleeping habits. Teddy bears were beaten and battered in various places and we sighed as we flopped onto Lina's bed.
"How are we going to clean this up?" Lina asked.
Man I wish this could just clean itself up. I thought to myself. I sat up after staring up at the ceiling for a few moments and focused Lina with her mouth hanging open, eyes wide with shock.
"Whats wro-" My words were cut off with shock as I saw the mess within the room clean itself up. Literally! The sheets were flying around, folding themselves and placing themselves in the laundry cupboard. The stuffed toys began to help the sheets on Lina's bed be made and once completed they lined themselves up and went back to being lifeless stuffed animals.
"What the hell!?" Lina interrupted my initial shock. We both sat there astonished as the room settled. Lina's mother suddenly appeared at the door and gasped.
"Girls, you actually cleaned up the room? Thank you!"
"Uh yeah, sorry Ms. Harrison but I'd better be going." I told her shakily, she nodded in reply and I rushed out the door. I looked down at my hands as I made my way to the bus stop, what was happening to me? I shook my head as the bus arrived, still looking down at the ground My head came into contact with someone and I mumbled a soft apology. I clutched my head as I remembered when it had already collided with a seat, I need to stop bumping into things.... and people.
"Wi- I mean Meg? Sorry, are you ok?" I nodded as I saw Evan standing in front of me. "Seems this is the second bus meeting now huh?" He chuckled lightly and I cracked a small smile, brushing my hair back behind my ear nervously. I met his beautiful blue eyes and his smile faded, fast. I blinked and remembered that my color had changed and quickly looked away, still feeling his intesnse gaze on my face.
"W-Well I have to go now, sorry." I smiled weakly at him and tried to push past, unsuccessfully.
"Wait, don't go yet. Stay outside till the next bus, please?" Evan begged. I shook my head and tried again to force myself past him.
"You two done with your lovers spat yet? We gotta get on the road." The bus driver interrupted, annoyed. I blushed furiously as I saw all the other passengers on the bus were staring at us. I let my hair fall in front of my face and squirmed under Evan's arm and into the nearest seat. He sighed and stepped off the bus, looking longingly at the closing doors as we drove away. I leaned my head against the window and my breath fogged up the dirty glass. I had enough problems without having super powers and some strange boy, though he seriosuly was hot. And I mean hot. I bit my lip as I thought about his perfect bright blue eyes, I could stare into those eyes all day..... I closed my lids and sighed, guess I'll have to get over him for now and learn how to use these weird new 'wishing' powers.
