Once we finished watching Alex Strangelove on Netflix Liza took me back to my apartment so we could get ready. It was already 7:10 so Liza and I quickly changed into new clothes.

"Are you ready?" Liza asked putting finishing touches on her makeup

"Are you ready?" Liza asked putting finishing touches on her makeup.

"As ready as I'll ever be I guess."

We headed out the door and into the car. Liza was driving. We got to the house and stepped outside. This place was massive. You could hear the music blasting from the inside. We walked up to the door and I knocked. Liza looked at me like I was crazy and just walked inside. All I could see was crazy drunk people taking sips from their red solo cups every five seconds and dancing on each other. I kept looking around hoping to find at least one sane person...finally. "Hey David!" I yelled over the loud music.

"Hey Grace! Glad you can make it!"

I chuckled. "What?"

He motioned me to walk with him. He showed me outside where there was a pool and people bbq-ing (yes I know David's house doesn't have a pool but for this story it does). "Can you hear me now?"

"Yea I can." I smiled.

"Well as I was saying, I'm happy you made it."

"Thanks I am too," I looked around the backyard. "So is this place all yours?"

"Yeah...well Alex, Nathalie, and I live here at least."

My heart sank, but I played it cool. "Ooooo so is Nathalie your girlfriend." I plastered a fake smile on my face.

"Oh no she's just my assistant. Im single." (also in this story Liza and David never dated Liza even though they were super cute together)

"Oh well that sucks."

"How about you?"

"Oh no I haven't dated anyone since I was in San Francisco. I'm still settling into LA."

Davids face changed. "Anyways wanna get a drink inside?"

"Yea sure."

I followed David inside and went to the kitchen to get a beer. Halfway through the bottle and our conversation Liza came up to me with a guy behind her. : Hey Im gonna go I'll see you later." Liza winked at me and left before i could say anything.

I looked at David. "She was my ride home." Then I continued to drink. David pulled me into the living room letting me meet most of his friends. I especially loved Zane, Scotty, and Kristen. They were the best and I immediately became best friends with them. I hung out with them for most of the night talking about our lives before LA.

It became late and people were starting to leave. I had had 4 beers which probably wasn't the best idea I've evr had. WoOpS. I stumbled over to David to tell him I was about to go. "Heeeeey Davie."

David chuckled. "Hey Grace what's up?"

"Im just gonna start to heading home," I mumbled.

"Are you sure? I thought Liza was your ride?"

"She was. Im just gonna maybe take an Uber."

"Really, it's like 3 am."

"Yeah ill be fine."

"You know what Grace. stay the night. you can sleep in my room. I'll sleep on the couch."

"Are you sure?''

"Of course."

I sat on the couch watching The Office waiting for everyone else at the party to leave. Once everyone did I looked for David. I found him in the kitchen cleaning up empty cups. I walked up to him and sat on the counter beside him. "Arn't you tired?" I yawned.

"Yea but I dont want to do this in the morning. I was just about to go to bed anyway."

"Makes sense."

"I can show you to my room if you want."

"Sure." I hopped off the counter and followed him, walking through the hallway. You know what David I could just sleep on the couch. I mean its your room."

"No Grace I insist."

We finally reached the room.

"Hey you want something to sleep in? So your more comfortable?"

"sure." I smiled.

He reached into his drawers pulling out a red sweatshirt and some  black basketball shorts. "are thes fine?"

I nodded.

"Well goodnight Grace." he walked out of the room and closed the door leaving me to change. I did so and climbed into his bed smelling the sheets. God did they smell good. I thought to myself for a while. God what am I doing? i've only been here for a month and a half. What was he doing to me? I finally fell asleep enclosed in all of David's blankets...feeling the best I've had in a while.
