Virgil carried the last of the boxes to his room and set it down gently on the floor, knelt down, and began to unpack the small accessories that just about completed his new room, in his new home. New. He used to long for something different, or extraordinary to happen in his old town, for something new to happen for once. Then when things did get different, he did everything in his power to try and convince his parents to stop it from happening. But it did, and life just dragged him kicking and screaming all the way through it. Now he was sitting 2,000 miles away from everything he once loved. Although he didn't have many friends at his old town, he did have one person he could always depend on, no matter what- Patton. He was the happiest person anyone could ever be living in a small town surrounded by the scary, unknown woods, and mean, pretentious jerks and bullies.

He looked at everything on the bright side, even Virgil's move he found a way to make light of it. He was the only person that could ever calm his heightened anxiety, and now he was across the country, 2,000 miles out of reach. How could he even survive? It was hard enough just to make friends with Patton, and he didn't feel it was worth it to go through with the stress and panic of trying to make new ones. Ugh. There was that word again- new.

He sat everything on their spots on the shelves and began setting up the keyboard stand. He unfolded it and placed it in the corner of the room and slid a chair under it, then placed the piano keyboard on top and plugged it into the nearby outlet. Taking a seat, his fingers found themselves back in the familiar spot, hovering over the keys, then gently playing a few notes, beautifully leading up to the loud and proud chorus, sound echoing through his room and out of his opened window, just like the days at his old town, where he would loudly play the lovely instrument, not a care in the world if anyone heard him.

His worries and anxiety slowly faded away, momentarily forgotten as he passionately pressed down the keys, the notes complimenting each other perfectly. The lively tune quieted down into a nice piano dynamic, playing the first few notes of the pre chorus and ending the song on an unfinished, note that left you wondering what happened. Like when a story ends on a cliffhanger, but the series doesn't continue.

He turned around, expecting to find Patton's overjoyed puppy-like face, and clapping at Virgil's music. He sighed and let his shoulders fall in disappointment when he realized that he wouldn't be seeing Patton for a long while.
