Ah, how I love this game and its ridiculousness. But, before I get on with how much I love the game and some stories about it, sorry for not updating this for over a week. I already had ANITKU (A Necromancer is Trying to Kill Us, for future reference) and I am in college and I tried to schedule my classes to where I had some downtime every once in a while, but I have other stuff to do, and I like reading webcomics and fanfic, and I play D&D on a monthly basis. I am sorry I have not updated this in a while.

OK, now that we are are away from a rant that ten people, if that, will ever see, here we go with stories and my thoughts.

I love this game more then any other game in existence, whether it's a board game, a sport, a video game, I love this more then any of those. You know why? Well, if you like video games where you can do "anything", then you will ADORE this game as much as I do. Because, in video games, even in open world sandboxes, you can't do everything you want. There are preprogramed limits, which can draw you out of the game, there are chances the game will completely break under the right circumstances, etc.

Dungeons and Dragons just doesn't. You might try to something that there aren't any rules for, but you can just make something up. Well, the DM can. The DM is the one who makes the world, the scenario, and sometimes houserules stuff. It's awesome. Also, just to give you an idea of what I mean when I say you can do anything, just let me tell you this: If the game Clue played anything like D&D, you could beat a confession out of Colonel Mustard, congratulate yourself by raping Miss Scarlet. (And I have a player at my group who did something similar [he was a rogue] and he DID it. That is all.)

Of course, there are rules. A lot. But, as a player, you only really need one, which is the Player's Handbook. And even then, you don't have to have it memorized to play the game, you can just flip through it, make a character, and have the DM tell you some of the rules if he says you can't do something.
