Because Simon did a bad and held a kid hostage, (in our defense, we weren't aware of this crime). Diath has now reverted back to calling Simon "Murderbot" and will avoid any and all contact with Simon. So Simon just stays in his room, kicking stuff, and if that little puppet could cry, I have a feeling he would be. So, as his father, I'm dealing with some heavy stuff. I need more wine, stat.
And Evelyn, Simon needs his mom. (She's way better at feelings than me).
