Have you seen this flyer?
I've seen a few of my friends share it on Facebook. Is this an annual thing?
It is but I've only been twice and not in a row. They have some great bands and good food too.
Are you thinking about going?
My friend Chloe wants to go and I would love to, but this assignment is kicking my butt.
I'm sorry to hear about that, can I help somehow?
By motivating me constantly and making sure I don't get distracted? Go right ahead!
I'll be the best motivator you'll ever met.
Get it; emphasis on the word 'met'.
I'm nervous about meeting you, Eric, and you know that.
I know we are friends and I feel so comfortable around you; what if we ruin that by actually meeting?
How would we ruin it? I think it'll make our friendship stronger!
Look; you live in Los Angeles and I live in Malibu – that's a 30 minute drive.
You've convinces me enough, alright? Me and Chloe will see you at this 'Malibu at Night' thing this Saturday.
And please bring some friends, a request by my friend Chloe.
I have a funny feeling she's going to get along splendidly with my friend Travis.
From what you've told me I agree with you on that.
I have to get to my second class of the day now; I'll talk to you tonight. As usual.
Knock em' dead FloMo!

"My friend Travis is extremely excited to see your friend Chloe." Eric was lying in his bed and talking to Florence on Friday evening.
"Chloe feels the same way, although she asked to see a picture of him I told her to wait. We'll see you tomorrow."
"You can tell her he looks like a better version of me."
"I already did that, apparently that didn't satisfy her enough." Florence said jokingly.
"You told me you went to see your parents today, you do that quite often don't you?" Florence suddenly asked.
"Yeah, I try to at least," he started and then stopped abruptly. Should he tell her about his mother's condition? They had never discussed it before, "my mom hurt her back a while back and I like to check up on her when I have time."
"Oh no I'm so sorry, what happened to her?"
"My mom used to work as a receptionist at this firm and one day she fell while trying to retrieve a file, she hurt her back and couldn't work after that. So every now and then I go to see her, just to make sure she's okay."
"Wow Eric I had no idea, and what you are doing for your mom is incredible. I bet you're her favorite child."
"I surely hope so but we all help out, my sisters, me and my dad."
"Can you adopt me?"
"The more the merrier, that's what my mom would say," Eric laughed.
"How is your mom feeling now? Does she miss going to work?"
"Actually she cooks for 'Meals on Wheels' these days and she loves it. So do we because we get all the leftovers."
"This might sound strange but I'd love to meet your family someday."
"I think they would love to meet you too."
"I would ask you to meet mine but I think you'd hate them," Florence chuckled but Eric couldn't happen to hear a sad tone in her voice.
"Why do you keep slandering them like that?" He dared himself to ask.
It was silent on the other end for a while before she decided to speak again,
"I wouldn't call my mom a gold digger but other's would, if you understand. To my dad my mom is a trophy and so am I, we're not his family. No, his family are inanimate objects that he loves to purchase and display all around the house. If you only knew the amount of recitals, dances and birthdays that he's missed because he simply didn't care about me and my mom let's it happen because she's afraid he'll divorce her or cut off her spending money. So yes, I take the opportunity to slander them every chance I get."
"I'm sorry you had to go through all of that," Eric said and truly felt for her.
"I used to be too but now I'm okay with it. I'd like to think it showed me a world I didn't want to be a part of; this upper class lifestyle that has no soul only money."
"You know? The firm my mom worked for had some really upper class people working there, but they weren't all cruel like you think. Some of them have worked hard for what they've got but knows how to be humble also." Eric tried to console.
"I'd still like to be adopted, please." She joked.
"What time are you going to be in Malibu tomorrow?" Eric asked her, finally allowing the conversation to happen.
"I'm not sure yet but we were thinking around 7 pm – that way we won't miss the sunset."
"Great! Let me know when you've arrived and I'll come greet you."
"I can't wait."
