My name is Zaib-un-Nissa Ahmed and my husband's name is Hamzah Peerzada.

The above sentence might not seem problematic to many of you, but in some parts of Pakistan it is very problematic indeed. My surname suggests that I belong to an Urdu-speaking family whereas Hamzah's surname suggests that he belongs to a Sindhi family.

A marriage is done between two people within their own ethnicity. Sometimes these marriages are done to keep the peace between the ethnic groups. Everyone minds their own business and there is no turbulence.

The union could be lethal. So lethal that the it could shake the entire politics of a nation that is, if powerful people are involved. When a middle-class belonging girl enters the world of modern elites, not to mention they both belong to different ethnicities, all the perfect ingredients to a disastrous marriage in the eyes of the public.

What's worse is that she is so firm on the idea of her marriage to a person who is simply shocked and has no feelings whatsoever to spare her.

An incongruous marriage without love, what could be the reasons that Zaib-un-Nissa was determined to be in it? It couldn't just be intrigue. Why did Hamzah oblige? What is it in it for him?

Most importantly, how will they find love when they have to step on eggshells and one miscalculated move could threaten the peace of their nation?
