CHAPTER FOUR - You are an angel & I am an old abandoned church with broken pews and empty aisles

"Amy, can i have a word with you?" My dad asks me the moment i walked in. i nod in response and followed him to the living room.

I sat across from his leather brown chair where he usually sits but he sat right next to me on the couch instead..

"Soo..how are you?" My dad isn't the best at these kind of things, he mostly lets mom do all the talking and scolding since she's merciless when it comes to those things whilst he either sits there agreeing to whatever she's saying or doesn't sit there at all.

"Uh fine.." I answer nervously

"Tomorrow is your first day at this new school,"

i don't like where this is going

"I know how difficult this must be for you. Moving, different town, new house, new school and.." He pauses, almost mentioning something he shouldn't have.

"And everything.." He continues with a frustrated look on his face. He must be thinking how bad he is at this.

"Dad, i'm fine." I tell him trying to ease the tension.

"Good.." He gives me a small smile before averting his gaze from me to the floor. Something tells me this isn't just about wether i'm alright with everything that's going on.

He remained silent for a couple of minutes, his eyes focused on the carpet.

"Can i go now?" I ask him, breaking his chain of thoughts bringing him back to reality.

"No one more thing," there you go.

"Me and your mother are very worried about you. We decided to move here to help you start over; to help you.. recover."

he speaks to me so gently as if he's holding something fragile.

"Try not to cause any trouble at school.." He softly tells me holding both my hands in his

"don't do what you did last time.." His eyes were pleading and full of worry. His grey strands make him appear older than he is along with his dark circles.

"Alright buddy?" He smiled making the wrinkles in the corner of his eyes show

"Okay" i answer

and i know for a fact that he doesn't believe me just as much as i don't.

-

She was standing on a cliff;

A girl with long blonde hair

Unlike other blonde,

It was the kind of blonde that would

Make our arrogant sun humble,

The kind that even gold

would turn to ashes

In envy.

So beautiful, so delicate; it seemed unreal.

Her smile was bright, brighter than the sunset behind her that made her look as if she's glowing.

She stood there, both hands pinned to her sides i watched as the wind blew through her long hair and silky white dress.

The sound of the crashing waves against the rocks consumed me and i lost myself in her angelic blue eyes that suddenly grew wide in fear as dark clouds begin to appear, covering the same sky that was once so full of life; rain started pouring heavily. The sky lit up above us and the loud sound of thunder followed.

The girl now seemed sad, her expressionless face seemed painfully sorrowful. Her hair and clothes were completely dry whilst i'm standing here drenched from head to toe. She slowly lifts her hand running her fingers through her hair as it started falling off. My heart started beating like crazy at the sight of it, i tried running towards her but my legs were glued to the solid ground.

She turns away from me, walking towards the edge, spreading both arms beside her she..

Jumped.

"NO!" I screamed and fell off my bed. I woke up on the floor of my room drenched in cold sweat.

"It was just a dream" i choke breathing heavily.

"It was just a dream it was just a dream it was just a dream it was just a dream" i repeat to myself rocking myself back and forth letting out deep breaths as i search for a string of sanity i can cling to in this darkness i'm surrounded with.
