"Hello there," I smiled.
They both rushed to my side, the one hugged me, but when I face the other, he looked apologetic.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"I'm so sorry," he replied.
I gave a confused look, "With what?" he wiped away his tear a dose a slight smile "It's nothing."
"Anyways, I'm Josh," the man finished as he got interrupted.
"I guess nice to meet you," I joked. The other three men that came in also introduced themselves Derek, Danny, and Jake. I look at them all noticing they don't want to talk about the elephant in the room "I'm sorry I don't remember either of you."
Derek holds my hand, "You have nothing to be sorry," he assured me, " We're the ones who should be sorry."
Again, I got confused, "Sorry for what?"
"Don't worry about it; just get better, okay."
"Okay...does anyone have my phone?"
"I have it," Derek said while reaching it from his pocket "Here."
Opening it, I go through my photos first to see if I can gain any of my memories back, but so far none. There are photos of Jake and me, me and Derek, me and Josh and pictures of me kissing Danny. "Are we together?" I thought. I look at Danny smiling than at everyone else "What is the last thing you remember?" Josh finally asked, "Living with my dad," I answered. They all look at one another feeling concerned, maybe thinking the worst, the possibility of me not getting my memory back. I went back looking through my music, most songs I remember, but some I never even heard any.
"Something wrong?" Jake asked.
I slightly shake my head "No, I just don't remember some of the songs in my music app."
"It'll come back to you," he smiled.
"I hope so," smiling back.
My eyes look at the time; It's almost 7 in the morning. I joked for not wanting hospital food and have McDonald's instead; Josh chucked insisting on going out and got it. I turn to face Derek "I'm guessing my mom called," he nodded with a sad expression on his face "Your mother was scared when she heard you are in the hospital." I look back at my phone, thinking if I should call her or not, I mean, I know I should but not right now.
"Also, you were wearing this," Danny said, holding a necklace with an acorn on it. I know the meaning behind it. It's a kiss like what Peter gave Wendy. Did Danny provide it to me? he passed me the necklace as I notice the same one around his neck, but with a thimble, I look at his then at mine and smile, "Can I speak to Danny alone for a bit?"
"Sure," Derek smiled "We'll be outside if you need us."
As Derek and Jake left the room, Danny sat next to me, smiling, "What's up?" he joked.
"Oh, you know, memory loss and all," I joke back.
"You will get it back."
"I know."
Danny kept smiling at me, I can tell he wanted to hold my hand, but he's not sure if he should.
"It's okay," I said.
"What?"
"You can hold my hand," I smiled.
He did just that, kept smiling more, making sure that I will be all right. "Are we together?" I finally asked. Danny froze, lost for words as if I couldn't handle it. I pull out my phone, showing him the picture of us kissing. It's okay; you can tell me," I assured him. He looked deeply into the photo, and he kept holding my hand while taking a deep breath "Yes, we are together. When Derek called me and told me what happened, and you're in the hospital, I got scared."
"There's nothing to be scared of right now," I assured him.
