Chapter 24

Carmen's POV

The car ride back was kind of weird. Usually they are awkward or silent, but we are actually carrying a conversation this time. This definetly confused me considering what happened within the last half hour.

The next few weeks seem to go the same way; filled with "dates" and laughs. We were approaching the third month of our contract, and things couldn't be any better. We haven't really had any problems, and I have even started getting along with Violet. I know that she still doesn't really like me, but I don't really blame her. I wouldn't like a girl who was fake dating my boyfriend either. Anyway, Elle thought it would be a good idea to let the public believe we are in a somewhat long relationship. She had Tristan mention our upcoming "one year anniversary" in all of his recent interviews. She also had both of us tweet about it.

The beginning of August was approaching, which meant many things. First of all, it meant school was about to begin. This summer has gone by so fast, and I almost completely forgot about college. I will still be living at the Reed's estate, so I don't need to worry about dorm rooms or finding a roommate. I just need to find my classes and get my books, which I spend the weekend doing. I have classes three days a week from eight to one thirty, then I have the rest of the day off. I make sure to talk to management about my schedule, and they say that it shouldn't conflict with my schedule too much.

August also meant another thing: Tristan's new album. For the last few weeks, Tristan has been in the studio all day and all night finishing the album. He brought me with him a few times, and I can tell it's going to be a big hit. He is having two album release parties; one in LA and one in London. The one in LA is this upcoming Wednesday, and the one in London is on Friday. We decided to make a trip out of it, and stay in London for a week. The management thought it would be a good opportunity to throw some dates and appearances in there. I'm just excited to go back and see my old friends and simply relax for a few days before college.

Today, Tristan and I have just been laying around; eating pizza and playing video games. Brady and Violet came around lunch time to hang out. While Tristan and Violet had some alone time, Brady took me with him to some racing store. He had just signed up to do a celebrity car race for charity in southern California. I warn him about how dangerous racing is, but because he is Brady, he had to be stubborn and insist he would be fine. I wish him good luck since I would be in London during the time of the race. He thanks me before buying a few things. We drive back to the house, only to walk in on Brady and Violet kissing. I can't help but feel a pang of jealousy in my chest. I ignore it and give Brady a small smile before we go to my room, giving the couple their privacy.

The next morning, Tristan comes into my room with a proposition. He says that he can still sense the tension between Violet and I, and would like for us to get along better since we will be spending so much time together. I agree with him completely, until he proposes that she and I go together to the mall today to find a dress for his album release party. I decline his offer for two reasons, one being that I am afraid to be alone with her again and the second being that I hate shopping. Yes, their is such thing as a girl who hates shopping. I rather just wear something I own. He then proposed that we get our hair done together. I was quick to decline that offer as well, because I can't stand when people touch my hair. He then huffs in annoyance and says that we should get our nails done. I don't like getting my nails done either, but I can tell that his patience is wearing thin. Before I can change my mine, I reluctantly agreed. He gives me a big smile before giving me the time and address.

I take my time getting ready, and before I know it I'm on my way to the restaurant. The large japanese restaurant is packed full, but I easily find her dyed platinum blonde hair sitting alone by the sushi bar. I take a deep breath, preparing myself for what is to about to happen before I put on my best fake smile and walk towards the bar. I tap her shoulder and we say our greeting before hugging eachother and sitting down. The waiter then comes over and asks for our drinks. We both end up ordering and the waiter nods his head before leaving us to decide what we are going to order. We sit in a very uncomfortable silence until our waiter finally comes back. I just order a bowl of fried rice before Violet orders the most expensive thing on the menu. I roll my eyes before muttering, "rich people." She narrows her eyes at me slightly before returning her gaze to the man and completing her order. We sit in silence until our food arrives and I gain enough courage to start a conversation.

"So how is your movie coming along?" I ask, not actually interested.

She goes on and on for about ten minutes before I completely zone out, nodding my head occasionally to make it seem as if I was listening. By the time I come back down to earth, she's talking about some yogurt she had for breakfast in Tokyo, and I'm ready to pull my eyeballs out. How is it possible for someone to talk for that long. Thanks to Tristan, I have to deal with this for the next three hours.
