sophomore year of high school, 2016.

evan has dragged issac to a party that the both didn't fit in at. they only knew each other there.
they stayed in the corner while everyone else crowded the house, dancing, drinking, smoking, which of course they were also doing, but in their heads they were having fun, so why stop?
after a little while of being stuck in the corner they pushed their way through the groups of people dancing, they made it outside.
they sat down at the edge of the pool, their ankles floating in the water.
evan held a cigarette to his lips while issac did the opposite: drinking shitty beer out of a solo cup.
"evan? can i, um, tell you something?" issac was about to say something that he honestly didn't want to confess but the alcohol had already taken control of his mind.
"yeah. what is it?" evan stared at the stars, blowing the last bit of smoke before crushing the cigarette on the concrete with his thumb.
"i-i'm gay. and i think i've been like this for a while a-and i hope you're not mad or anything. and i guess i get it if you don't like me anymore." this isn't how issac would've liked to do it, but he couldn't reverse time. now he knew.
"issac! holy shit! thats so good! i'm proud of you! i would never leave you, we've been friends since you came out of the womb! and if you think i would you're dumb."
issac smiled as evan wrapped an arm around his shoulders.
"i would never leave you."
