Raven was only thirteen and silly when she wrote her first love letter, when she faced her first rejection.
Nicholas had said she was too young for him and that she'd find a better guy for herself when she's older . . . Someone around her age. Raven, of course, thought that was complete bullshit but what could she really do? A rejection was a rejection.
Life and time will have to play their part and we all have to move on. Nicholas joined the Army and Raven moved on.
